BTS deciding not to summit their work for the Grammys after knowing they’d most likely win next year is precisely what integrity looks like and I wish a lot of Latin artists would do the same thing.

The Grammys didn’t create that “Best Asian Music” category this year to be diverse. They did it to continue boxing non English speaking artists but especially BTS, so they won’t have to nominate them in the main categories with the rest of their peers. This was the Grammys telling BTS they’ll give them a Grammy win but under their own boxed category. We give you the scraps and you are supposed to take them. They said no.

They’ve been doing this for years under the disguise of diversity. “Best Traditional Country Album” a new category introduced after Beyoncé won in the Best Country Album category because they couldn’t stand a non white artist redefining that genre. “Best African Music” being introduced in 2024 to keep Tyla away from other pop girls. And “Best Latin Song” being introduced for this year along with Best Asian Music after Bad Bunny right fully dominated all of the charts last year. And mind you, Brazilian artists cannot even submit their work for this category because the rules say it has to be 51% in Spanish, even when Brazilians speak Portuguese but are Latin people.

It was never about diversity. It’s about boxing and categorizing these artists when global music (or more like non English music) is becoming bigger each year and this is the only way they can keep their American/British peers safe in their space.

In BTS’ latest album ARIRANG, they have a song called Alien where they describe feeling alienated by the industry duo to their xenophobic behavior. Them creating this category when they released one of the biggest albums of the year is proving them right. At the end, this was the right choice.

Great of BTS for rejecting the Grammys full on and not play into their very tokenization game.

Ben is the son of Rumplestilskin and an aged-up Belle, while Mal is still the daughter of Maleficent and Hades. The author is in the middle of their love story rn. Audrey (who is Aurora's younger sister here) has barely featured so far, but we know that Audrey is her cursed name, her real name is Alice and she has been to Wonderland. So her story is def not gonna be tied to Ben and Mal. Somewhat regular (one every 2 or 3 months) here as well.

Look I don't think Supergirl (2026) is secretly a perfect masterpiece or anything (I personally thought it was like. a 6/10 fun time) but I do think it's wild that Tumblr isn't going crazy for it because this Kara is one coattailed suit away from being a Tumblr sexyman. she is the flawed messy female character people have supposedly been clamouring for. she's the popular archetype of a gruff self-destructive alcoholic middle-aged man begrudgingly having to look after a kid and growing fond of them but genderswapped and also 23. she's allowed to be visibly messy and kind of gross and her hair is constantly all over the place and she literally cries, screams, throws up, and pisses onscreen. she's caustic and mean and puts up an act of carelessness but has a heart of gold. she's heavily traumatised and coping with it terribly. if anything happens to her dog she will kill everyone in this room and then herself. she spends most of the movie in a trench coat and baggy band T-shirt. she gets into bar brawls and breaks a guy's hand. she is Going Through It 24/7 and looks the part. she stabs a guy in the throat. how is everyone else not obsessed with her.

I think I just got that very specific 'she's too succesful so I am gonna say the way she achieved isn't RightTM' level of hate for a woman at work and while it made me see red when she said, I'm now feeling like I am the Taylor freaking Swift of my job. Like, wow, it must suck, when you can't compare with my results (born from my hard work). Maybe if you spent less time giving unsolicited advice and more time working, you'd have a chance.

I feel like I am the only one who didn't like Olivia Rodrigo's new album. For me the music felt tired and reused, and the lyrics ranged from fine to 'no!'

This being said, it did take me a couple of listens before I liked Guts too, although Guts had its stand-outs from the very begining (Vampire, All American Bitch, Get Him Back, Teenage Dream, Making the Bed, Bad Idea, Right?), while I can't say I like any of the new songs except Drop Dread.

Ben and Lonnie are Actually BFF’s - headcanon/meta brought to you by Rani and her need for her faves to have been friends and also a little wish-fulfillment. I wrote this forever ago and it’s A Lot but I’m posting it before it gets jossed by Descendants 2 (which….who knows maybe my broship will be canon but whateva).

So for my First Piece of Evidence…it’s less evidence and more me spit balling (I’ll get to actual evidence later). But they’re pretty evenly matched in temperament, they’re both happy, cheerful, and kind kids with a general positive outlook on life which would make me think they would get along. I mean, Ben seems to get along with everyone so its not far of a stretch that him and Lonnie would get along.

Second, she seems pretty down with the proclamation. Which could be chalked up to her just being a good person but uh. Considering the pushback Ben got from it (warranted or not), it doesn’t seem very likely that’s the reason. Or likely all on it’s own anyway. I mean most of the parents are against it, at the very least the more popular kids are against it (minus Ben), so that’s a lot of people around Lonnie that don’t like it, but she seems sorta down with it, even if she’s a bit reluctant. Which obviously means that Ben was like “look literally even my parents aren’t in love with this idea I need someone in my corner Lonnie pls I will do your math homework for a month” and she went along with it bc THEY ARE BFFS.

Third point which is - Lonnie tries quite often to be their friend, initially in a way that looks like she was put up to it by someone else (…maybe…idk…Ben…) but then keeps trying

she’s one of the first to reach out to the four and she does so fairly early on

also. why would she go to them for magic hairdo she’s the kid of two big military leaders i am positive she has the money to go to a nice hairdresser or like, her grandmother.

she also comes across a bit better than chad and jane do - evie wants a boyfriend, chad plays on this by using her to do his homework, mal has to chase after jane and jane only stays bc mal makes her popular. the minute audrey and them accept jane, she drops mal fairly quickly. lonnie wants them to do something for her yeah, but she offers to pay for it, so it’s not like she’s taking advantage or anything.

her reaction after she gets her hair done like she’s SO EXCITED AND SHE WANTS MAL TO KNOW THAT and then she rips her skirt in a really obvious i’m-gonna-be-cool-like-you way

she continually reaches out to them, not just for her hair and her own gain but she goes when they’re making cookies and mentions everyone wants Mal to do their hair, which points to her talking Mal’s makeover skills up.

Which. LET ME TALK ABOUT THAT SCENE. She tries to make conversation during that scene, she offers help, she’s genuinely trying to be nice, and wants to know about their lives. And when their lives turn out to be worse than she thought, she doesn’t brush it off or blame them for t heir shitty lives like other characters do, she is KIND AND SYMPATHETIC and tries to offer comfort!!! It even seems to work for a half a second but you know, plot happens and all.

She also sits with the girls at the game even tho she obviously has other friends, but she reaches out anyway.

she is literally the only character besides Ben to constantly reach out to them, in what is initially a way that is her not happpy with it (like she’s been put up to it by a friend) but then keeps trying to be their friend

Piece the Fourth - evidence she’s friends (good friends!!) with Ben. [note: some of this would do better if I had gifs to back it up but I can’t gif. So I have caps, altho it might be a little hard to tell but it’s the best I can do sorry]

Again, first person to actively seek them out (Chad and Jane sorta fall into their laps, and Doug is their guide thing. She’s the one who makes first contact).

the way she phrases it “you hate us and well…you’re evil” strikes me as someone put her up to it. like your friend is like go talk to the new kid they seem nice and you’re like fine and you’re a bit of an asshole initially cuz u don’t want to be there. Considering the fact that Ben has seen they’re having some issues blending in, and then the weirdness of Mal chasing Jane into the bathroom, it would make sense that he’d want to make them feel more welcome so he sends a friend he knows won’t be a dick to go talk to them. Lonnie agrees bc Ben and also she’s nice.

Like seriously she’s like squealing and grabbing Mal and pointing at Ben, like there’s excited and then there’s Lonnie during that scene.

During the Family Day debacle, everyone else starts walking away after Chad wakes up, but she stays

Later, she doesn’t gossip like Jane or Audrey, she lookes upset like Doug and a bit mad about what just happened.She also loks v disappointed in Doug when he rejects Evie and then sorta shakes her head and looks annoyed when Jane and Audrey come over after they had just insulted Mal. I don’t have great caps for this bc she’s not the focus on the scene (this is where giffing skills would come in siiiigh) but I did find one cap that isn’t too terrible

She does leave with the group but unlike everyone else, she doesn’t look afraid, she’s just pulling a Chad away from the group (probably stopping him from getting his ass put to sleep again bc come on nobody is happy during that scene)

So she very obviosly is not happy about this, attempts to comfort Ben, and is not ok with the petty shit Chad, Jane, and Audrey pull off, and disappointed in Doug not reaching out to Evie. To me, it seems less like she’s in with the other kids, and more like she feels very torn and not sure of how to react to the situation. So, similar to Doug - which, I was very annoyed with Doug and while it is disappointing that Lonnie wouldn’t say something either, peer pressure is a hell of a motivator and when you go to school with literal princes and princesses, that peer pressure is probably multiplied by 10000. Not to mention, we know characters like the dwarves are treated badly by Auradon per Isle of the Lost. While Mulan and Shang are human, they’re also not royalty and I wonder how well they would be treated. 

And then in Set It Off, she just jumps into the happy right away. She doesn’t need to be cheered up and she’s not a love interest, she’s just genuinely happy for everyone. Which is a) part of part three in that she’s just a really nice person and b) she’s happy bc her best friend is at least dating someone she likes I mean idk about any of you, but I’m always much happier when I approve of my friends’ dating choices

In conclusion I just love Lonnie so much, she’s so nice to the rotten four and she wants to give them a chance and I want Ben to have friends that actually support him and I want Lonnie to have friends that aren’t catty as hell and I think it would be cute if they were friends, I think there’s a decent amount of evidence that points towards them being friends, and it’s my headcanon and I say so :P

I was once talking with a friend about the baffling number of Christophers in the TSC verse. Like, it's the second most used name after Jonathan, but unlike with Jonathan, there is no lore behind Christopher. And since I know way more spoilers than I should, my mind just came out with a possible connection between two of the Christophers.

Spoilers for The Last Hours under the cut:

It always baffled me why Valentine would choose Christopher for his son(s)' middle name(s). Like Jonathan makes sense, but Christopher has no connection to him. Why not use Oskar, his father's name, as a middle name? We know that he wanted his daughter to be called Seraphina, after his mother.

We know very little about the Morgenstern family when compared to some of the others, but one headcanon I had since starting ChoG was that Grace's bio mom might have been a Morgenstern. After all, Grace does have the classic Morgenstern platinum blonde hair as well as some of that Morgenstern coldness and haughtiness. But now, knowing that Grace is alive and single at the end of TLH and that she also had an affinity towards Christopher Lightwood (let's call it affinity and not romance cause 1. they are adoptive cousins and 2. I don't really know all the details of their dynamic), I have a new theory:

What if Grace marries a Morgenstern and has a son named Christopher, who ends up being Valentine's grandfather? Thus Valentine names his son(s) after his grandfather. It even tracks with Grace being interested in science and dangerous experiments, the same as her possible-grandson, Valentine

Like, maybe I am crazy, but this works pretty damn well.

CHAIN OF GOLD SPOILERS

I finished Chain of Gold and ngl, I think one of the worst fandom takes I have ever seen is 'James was a terrible friend to Matthew for not notocing his alcohol addiction and his crush on Cordelia'.

Like, James has been bracelet brainwashed during their entire friendship save for like, one month or two, when they were busy trying to figure out who was behind one of the worst demon attacks ever. I do not blame James for not noticing Matthew's addiction while brainwashed bc it is clear he has a very time focusing on anything non-Grace related considering how bland his POV is when he has the bracelet. He did realize something was wrong when the bracelet was off ('What shadow haunts you, Math?') and maybe he should have pushed more but again, they were pretty busy with making sure people didn't die. Also, I am not even sure how familiar James is with alcohol addiction. Lucie recognizes it, but Cordelia couldn't even recognize it in her own father. So I think it is safe to say that alcoholism can be hard to notice.

As for the crush on Cordelia, I - the reader privy to a lot more info - can hardly see it, how could James?

Meanwhile, do you know who is being pretty shitty to Matthew rn? Thomas 'make nice with your childhood bully' Lightwood. Like yeah, Thomas may not know Alastair had called Matthew's mother a whore (indirectly), but he can still see that Matthew really can't stand him, so why push the issue? UO: Thomas is the terrible friend.

Okay bored so I’m gonna say what shadowhunter family I think would match with a certain game of thrones house:

Blackthorns - Starks: the blackthorn family that we see in TDA is literally just the starks from series, like almost to a T. A family that loves each other but is completely devastated but tragedies around them, it’s perfect. Not to mention just the sense of family and loyalty to them all, if they aren’t Starks I don’t who is!

Lightwoods - Tyrells: Are Izzy and Alec not literally just Margaery and Loras?? But anyhow, I feel like the Tyrells could be on either side of a war and still come out relatively unscathed and reputation unharmed, which relatively similar to the lightwoods. I also feel like they play the game in a such a different way than everyone else and that’s so Lightwood core.

Carstairs - Martells: Ah carstairs, my wonderful reckless children. The Martells in the series don’t always typically align with all the politics that goes around Westeros and that’s VERY Carstairs of them. But either way, I feel like they have a lot of similarities to the Carstairs characters we know in the series! I feel like recklessness and revenge are two things that are very big with them, think Emma and Cordelia! BUT there’s always a member who’s very kind (Jem; Elia… and also Cordelia again lol)

Herondales - Targaryen: okay this one will 100% be debated I’m sure BUT Targaryens are a massive focus of the whole series and well Herondales kinda fill that role for us. Like if you like at TMI Jace being the “only” Herondale left and suddenly kit pops up (very Daenerys and the 50 other so called Targaryens) not to mention the targaryens have a very deep bond with the Martells (will & Jem, Lucie & Cordelia). And also, there’s always a COUPLE of bad seeds along the line (cough Stephen cough)

Morgensterns - Lannisters: I was kind of debating putting them as house Baratheon as well but I don’t think we know enough about past Morgensterns. ANYWAYS, Morgensterns are so Lannister core… like getting mass amounts of people to fall for your lies is so Twyin and Valentine. Not to mention the working behind the scenes to get what you need to do done. Oh and don’t forget very slyyyy cover ups 👀. But don’t forget there are always fewww of them try and be better 🙏🏻.

Fairchilds - Tully’s: “you just did this because there both red heads” and what about it! But either way, I feel like they both have a lot of similarities. Very strong family bonds, I mean with the way Catelyn was overprotective of her kids is so Jocelyn with Clary. I also think they tend to act out a bit irrationally as times which we know Clary does… ALOT. They also usually always are the victims of sightings, especially since we’ve seen Fairchilds fight in every war we’ve ever seen in the series.

So yeah, this is just for fun 😎
