hi nottit cant gods fly in tgcf... why are they in danger so often r they even gods at this point. im at the part where lava you know and mq... confused i know the lava is special but shouldnt they still be able to get out... help

haha no they generally can’t sksksksk and this is one of the themes that mxtx has been reiterating throughout the story (heavily paraphrased) — “a god is just a human that ascended and a ghost is just a human that descended” aka at the very core of these characters, they are human. and this is why gods can technically die too as mxtx said in an interview (specifically when she was answering the question about swd’s ending). also, they’re highly dependent on their followers bc as it’s also been stated, a god’s power depends on their worshippers (this is why the more popular gods are more powerful and also why hc did all that intense worshipping in mt tonglu bc he didnt want xl to fade). so what even is the point of being a god? that’s the thing — it’s nothing grand bc they’re somewhat like glorified humans only in the tgcf world.
