Caramel Apple Cheesecake
she cookk me moodboard for the holidays
Y/N: baby? Is the Thanksgiving turkey almost ready?
Wanda: just about! I had to work a little magic to speed it up but I got a good feeling-
Wanda opens the oven and the turkey, now fully alive, jumps out and runs out of the kitchen…
Wanda: well…uhh…it’s fresh
Y/N: I’ll order us takeout
Thanksgiving Headcanons with the Mercenaries!
The lovely holidays are never a dull moment with the RED mercenaries.
Thanksgiving is no exception.
Do expect everything to be pretty much last minute, and most of the shopping is done by poor Spy, who was the only one who actually made an otherwise comprehensive list of what was needed in the kitchen.
Heavy, Engineer, and Medic are all doing the cooking, as usual. Pyro also loves to attempt to help with the cooking, but the last time they let them help, half of the base was on fire, somehow.
Heavy will typically bring bear meat as the main course, as his own little treat for everyone else, especially since he's much more fond of it than turkey.
Medic is too busy experimenting with the food, creating all sorts of concoctions that probably shouldn't be classified as edible in any way, shape, or form.
Engineer is the only normal one. He's cooking most of the meals, adding a southern twist to them as well. His favorite parts are creating the desserts. He can whip up a delicious apple pie.
Scout and Sniper are tasked with decorations, which should've been easy enough, but then Scout began to see how many he could place up as many decorations the fastest, and Sniper eventually decided it would be fun to engage in some playful banter after begrudgingly agreeing. The pair have much more fun than they originally expected, and the decorations end up looking a hot mess, though it was made out of love, so no one minds it.
Demo is tasked with creating some good old eggnog. Or atleast that's part of it. Last Thanksgiving, no one is sure what he did, what he placed in it, or how he even managed to make it, but last year's eggnog was explosive, and he's tasked with making normal eggnog. (One of his secret ingredients are gunpowder and the other is Scrumpy.)
Soldier is taking the time to recite the entire declaration of independence (or atleast his own version of it) and explaining how this ties into being American enough in order to enjoy a great feast with your American family all around, and how it was made possible by driving out all of the commies. (No one really understands it.)
Surprisingly, Scout's Ma offered to make the turkey this year, and as a bonus, she even made him a bucket of chicken. It was delicious.
Pyro doesn't really have much to do, as the only thing she really wanted to do was help cook. But he's not allowed to do so, so instead, they rake up a pile of leaves and begin to jump on them in order to pass the time. And as usual, he decided to add some fire to the mix.... (Once again, half of the base is now on fire)
Soldier, Engineer, and Demo also have fun creating palm turkeys, and they hang them up on the fridge. (Soldier did his in the colors of the American flag)
Someone almost accidentally cooked Archimedes, and now Medic is on a roaring rampage trying to figure out (kill) whoever was responsible (Scout).
Heavy and Spy also begin to play music to set the mood, and neither can really decide on what to play. So soldier jumps in and decides that on such as special day of American history, he must play the American national anthem, though Pyro disagrees with this and begins to play Jingle Bell Rock for the one thousandth time. (They can't separate most music anyways)
After hours later, the food is finally finished, and everyone can finally sit in peace and relax with a good meal... After about half an hour of prayer that was insisted by Heavy and Medic, both in their native languages, much to everyone else's dismay.
Demo, who actually attempted to sit through the prayers, felt that it was far too much for him to handle, and he immediately began to drink the spiked mixture of eggnog and Scrumpy, and passed out right after.
Scout was bored, and out of annoyance, threw mashed potatoes onto Medic's sweater, leading to a chain reaction of Heavy throwing peas onto him. Cue a food fight now happening.
Engineer and Spy are attempting to salvage any food they can so they can actually enjoy the meal, but then someone spilled gravy over Spy's suit, and cue the backstabbing of many.
Sniper is peacefully eating away from the table, listening to Pyro' mumbles about their love of the chaotic holidays.
Soldier rocket jumps for fun during the food fight, and in turn, ends up destroying pretty much the entire table of food.
Once everyone is settled down, Scout immediately believes that Thanksgiving is ruined, but Sniper and Pyro then gather the Turkey that is still somehow standing.
Everyone exchanges silent glances around the half destroyed base, and the debris of food pretty much everywhere, and realizing their silliness, they all share a laugh (including a mostly drunk Demo, who is laughing simply because everyone else is.)
Thanksgiving was great, and the RED team wouldn't have it any other way.
SAMI'S GAZA FUNDRAISER HAS UPDATED!!
SAMI IS VETTED BY GAZAVETTERS (#21) YOU CAN DONATE HERE
Sami has currently raised €2,215 out of his goal of €30,000. Sami's place of business was destroyed by Israeli bombing, and his family has been forced to relocate several times after their house was destroyed as well, with Sami's father being killed after being trapped inside. They currently live in a tent that is torn and offers little protection from the cold weather. His children need food, and clothes for winter. Due to intentional scarcity because of the Israeli blockade of Gaza, food has become increasingly expensive. Your donation will help keep Sami and his family fed during this difficult time.
