because classics is both a passion and a career for me, i spend a lot of my time in an ancient greece/rome mindset, which is fine except for when it accidentally slips into things that have nothing to do with classics

what i’m getting at is that the other day i was wondering where a pair of scissors i keep on my desk had gotten off to and ended up saying, out loud, with students in my classroom, ‘i know i have a sword here somewhere’

needless to say, i have not yet lived that one down
