Tweety Thoughts:
Tweety Bird is my fav Looney Tune character EVER and I have THOUGHTS on him. Thoughts that I NEED to share lest I explode into a pack of glitter.
Thinking about the angst of Tweety's situation. How he's seen as nothing more than "the bird in the gilded cage." Who he previously was, a sly, violent-minded, yet still lovable bird outwitting cats at every opportunity, was dumbed down into something he's not. And how he's SICK of being seen as nothing but "cute." How he's SICK of being seen as a baby when he damn well ISN'T.
I have thoughts on how he was naked in his first three cartoons. How he was wild. How that translated into his attitude. He was free. He could do whatever he wanted. And no one would care. The audience didn't seem to mind anyway.
Thinking about how when he got his new paint, he didn't take it well. He thought it made him look "soft." How he agreed to it on the condition that he'd stay the same as he was. Only for them to not even follow up on it. Warner Bros has used Tweety's image as a marketing tool for years. To appeal to not just girls, but little kids. Babies even. And it's due to this that people don't respect the true adult that Tweety is. This branding is part of the reason Tweety is so well known. But it's also the reason he's so controversial amongst the fanbase, who see him as "undeserving" of his status. And he KNOWS it.
You ever think how he knows he's one of the more disliked Looney Tunes? How that translates into his attitude. How that translates into his sharp tongue. At least, that's how I see it.
(Inspired by @squeakstop's post on Mickey Mouse and how Mickey's under the thumb of Disney).
Am….am I about to buy a $400 strap on just for fic research???????
Read your bio-I’m split between freaking out extremely positively over the existence of Rangoon and simping over your degrees, dang
he's my baby (。•́‿•̀。) and a rescue- i found him in a parking lot (strange, given i live in midwestern usa and nowhere near his native area). he's shockingly friendly, for a crab!
my beautiful son, rangoon ^ who does root for gr63, but. i love him nonetheless
as for the degrees, you flatter me ⁄(⁄ ⁄◡⁄ᴗ⁄◡⁄ ⁄)⁄ gotta do something to pay the bills, and i'm pretty solid at math! better with numbers than words, that's for sure haha. engineering was always a given, it was more of a question what kind- maybe i'm biased i'm absolutely biased but mechanical is the best, so.
i don't actually use any nanoscience in my day job (although the materials background does come up regularly), but it's a neat thing to have in my back pocket!

Me: *Yawns*
Me: Wait... What does this mean? Do I really think my characters are real?!
