I'm re-reading God of War by Rina Kent but at the same time I'm reading the Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb for the first time and I'm reading both simultaneously because I feel like the Farseer trilogy was a little dense and I couldn't read it in one sitting (but I do love the characters and world so I really want to finish it) so whenever I couldn't read it anymore I switch to GoWar.
And the switch up/contrast is so funny honestly 😭 on one hand you got almost an autobiography of how a kid who didn't even know his own name and was a little too attached to his dog developed a depression as young as 6 y/o and then you got two married couple bantering and falling in love all over again and being all cute.
It's the perfect refreshment I need lmao.
Regal was the OG "my father will hear about this"
Verity slapping the shit out of Regal makes whatever anguish the rest of this series puts me through worth it.
New chapter, coming soon
“Now you’ll sleep,” he informed me in a thick voice. “And tomorrow we’ll do the same again. And again. Until one day you get up and find out that whatever it was didn’t kill you after all." The Assassin's Apprentice, Robin Hobb.
Sometimes when you're depressed and spiralling down sleeping then waking up is all you can do. And that's enough to just repeat the cycle. Some days it has to be enough.
mortal sin
Arya Stark: You know, I've been thinking. I don't think it is such a mortal sin these days, for an unmarried acolyte to have sex. You know, as long as she doesn't rub her mentors' noses in it.
Jaqen H'ghar: Rub her mentors' noses in what?
Arya Stark: In the sex.
Jaqen H'ghar:
Arya Stark: What?
Jaqen H'ghar: If you should reconsider.
Jaqen H'ghar: This mentor is ready to rub his nose in your sex.
Don’t do what you can’t undo, until you’ve considered what you can’t do once you’ve done it.
Robin Hobb, The Assassin’s Apprentice.
This trilogy so far is incredible.
