my 60s band ocs loosely inspired by the beatles, the cicadas! please ask me about their lore theyve been spinning around in my brain
running on the back country roads in japan makes me feel like some sort of morbid ecologist. Recently I’ve been forced to observe (the rapid) decomposition of a dead lizard, the cannibalistic tendencies of crabs, and avoid stepping on murder hornets and whatever the hell this spider is (wasn’t even the only one). I find bones of various sizes on the road. I saw an earthworm as long as my forearm. I got a leech stuck to my ass. What is this place.
“Life itself is, after all, the attempt to keep it and beauty is the contradictory experiment because it seeks death.”
— Ingeborg Bachmann
from “The Cicadas,” in Three Radio Plays (tr. Lilian Friedberg)
I had a great dream last night. I was setting a table for about 12 people on the terrace of a house that seemed to be in southern France. I was wearing a long, comfortable linen dress and was walking barefoot on the cool tiles. I was happy about the way the table looked, we were about to celebrate something and I was obviously expecting guests.
I quickly thought about "the children" and smiled, convinced that it was going to be a great day.
And then I woke up. I've since decided it was a vision of the future.
i hear them scream g
it’s so funney when people intentionally say “cicadian rhythm” instead
