Villains Contest: Candidate n°21 (Fairy Godmother)
Do you think the villainess worthy of the Pantheon of villains ?
Yes 😈
No ⛔
Presentation:
The Fairy Godmother is a fairy from the Kingdom of Far Far Away. She is the main antagonist of Shrek. She is also the Prince Charming's mother.
-Queen Beryl: "A 'good' fairy who is a villain ? Here ?"
-Maleficent: "I'm a fairy too."
-Sailor Galaxia: "For once, there is a woman for running in this contest."
Villainy's journey:
The Fairy Godmother is a greedy fairy who grants the wishes of all those who need her help. In the past, she helped the King Harold to give a human form for him so he can marry Queen Lillian. When a little Princess Fiona (Harold's and Lillian's daughter) was hit by a curse that turned her into an ogress in each night, the fairy advised the royal parents to lock the little girl in a castle which guarded by a female Dragon. In next years, she sent Prince Charming her son to rescue Fiona but she only learned that an ogre called Shrek already rescued the princess. Worse again, Fiona even accepted her ogress form.
Biggest crimes:
The Fairy Godmother used some many sneaky ways of separate Shrek and Fiona. Firstly, she abetted her son to pretend to be a human-turned Shrek toward a human-turned Fiona while the real human-turned Shrek tried to join Fiona in the castle. She made Shrek believe that his romance with Fiona was irrealistic for an ogre like him. Meanwhile, the humanified ogre found out the greedy fairy's next step at the tavern (alongside with Donkey and Puss in Boots): She was inciting a relunctant King Harold to make Fiona drink a love potion so she can fall in love with Charming. The ogre, the donkey and the swordscat were later arrested and imprisoned in a tower. When the trio was escaped, they came to sabotage the royal ball just after the fairy sang her iconic song (Holding Out For A Hero). For preventing to let Shrek and Fiona still being together forever, she tried to kill the ogre by claiming that "ogres didn't live happily ever after". But Harold sacrified himself that backfired the death spell against her.
Jury's reaction:
Maleficent: "A good-faking fairy who decides of what ship is correct and incorrect with unconventional ways is really machiavelic."
Queen Beryl: "Do you agree that I can marry your son, please ? 😊"
Fairy Godmother: "Dafuq ? 🤨"
The Donkey
When fishes flew and forests walked
And figs grew upon thorn,
Some moment when the moon was blood
Then surely I was born.
With monstrous head and sickening cry
And ears like errant wings,
The devil’s walking parody
On all four-footed things.
The tattered outlaw of the earth,
Of ancient crooked will;
Starve, scourge, deride me: I am dumb,
I keep my secret still.
Fools! For I also had my hour;
One far fierce hour and sweet:
There was a shout about my ears,
And palms before my feet.

So, I caught a fever and had a bad night. Have some art I said I would take a break from because my word doesn't count.
It's the appropriate day for one of my very favourite poems: "The Donkey," by G.K. Chesterton. And so, without further ado:

OOooh! This one I think was my very First Comission! At risk of sounding like a cooking blog. A few years ago I was drifting between jobs when I landed a part time recruiting for UNICEF, we would be stationed around high traffic areas like outside the cinema or around a park. I met this lady outside a supermarket that Really wanted to join, but she wasn't good with computers and we had issues whenever we tried on her phone. Eventually I decided to go a bit outside of protocol and go to her house to help her finish the procedure, while there we start talking and I mention I'm trying to make wool sculptures for selling, she asks me if she can comission me because a nephew of hers is having his birthday soon, she tells me he likes Donkeys a lot and I get to work.... looking back at it.... it was Really Really fun, my methods where a lot different back then.... I should probably revisit some of those ideas, the felts I've been doing lately are a lot less.... solid I suppose. This was fun, this was Big, it was just adding material and squeezing it until it got the right shape, I probably made it unbalanced as Fuck but that's okay because I was just learning, this was my second Big project, and the first one I was getting paid for, so I wanted it to look good even if the process wasn't as efficient.
My favourite part of the process is certainly the Skull Looking one, but it's nice when you add colour and it suddenly takes identity
