I just read a lil something about building an author platform (because I enjoy making myself nervous and am also a fool who has nothing more than a first draft rn) and it's like

"figure out your target audience!" what do you mean target audience, I'm writing this for like five people

"have a brand!" my brand is trash goblin???

"have a professional social media presence!" my social media presence is literally a raging dumpsterfire

so all in all, I'm nailing it I think!
