INTRODUCING... THE CLASSPECTS

You may applaud.

One of the things that Homestuck gives us the Classpect system. A mixture of almost DnD like classes, and the almost elemental like Aspects.

But it goes a bit deeper than that.

The Classpects are meant to be fun. If you don’t wanna, you don’t have to take on anyone’s interpretation as concrete. Homestuck is funny like that.

I personally want to have a foundation that I can refer to and that can hold enough details that can not only uplift the story itself, produces more stories, but also give more interesting interpretations.

I watch a lot of theorists, like OptimsticDuelist. They make sense to me.

So the guidelines are simple here. - The Characters, even the all powerful ones, are not omniscient. They may have a rough estimate of events, but they don’t hold all the answers. Calliope is not always right, and will she’s a great way to start you on the right path...

Once you’ve found what you’re looking for, you’ve also found that she had some flaws in what she believed is true. She’s less like a Guide, and more like a Theorist. Like the rest of us. We gotta help her along too.

- There are no gendered classes or aspects. Anyone can be anything. The idea that one is limited in what classes or aspects they can have or be is a Lie perpetuated by Lord English. Unfortunately, a lot of people have bought into this.

- We’re throwing out the inversion theory. There are no inherently bad classes or aspects, for anyone. The flaws come in when someone misunderstands, misuses, or worse. For example, Lord English purposely mocks the Space aspect and all its facets.

While Rose does play a Witch of Void, where Void is the “opposite” of Light. Void is more complicated than just being everything Light is not. Its more like... Rivalry.

Vriska plays a Sylph, Which is not a direct opposite of a Thief, and she’s awful at it.

- Just because you play a Class or Aspect, does NOT mean you or your character is required to be Hurt. This shouldn’t have to be said and its upsetting how many believe this. Being a Mage doesn’t mean you’re gonna die or be blinded. Being a Mind Player doesn’t mean you’re gonna get debilitatingly injured.

No Classpect is suppose to be inherently harmful to others. Again, it boils down to misunderstanding, misuse, or someone else is fucking with you.

- The Classpect of One’s Significant Guardian / Significant Ancestor, can have an effect on how you “play”. For some kids, its only the class (Dave’s Princely nature from Dirk, and vice versa; Jake’s Witchly nature from Jade) for others, the Aspect (Trolls directly inherent their Aspect; Rose is affected by Roxy’s Void) ect.

- An Species can have a center Aspect, without being the trope “Planet of the Hats”. It doesn’t have to be entirely, and it isn’t so dominate that it becomes “pick a trait and make a Star Trek Planet”. It can be one aspect of, well, an Aspect.

Trolls are inherent to Blood (Inheritance, literal Blood, all of them technically being more related than just sharing a species...).

Humans are inherent to Breath (Detachment; Capable of being their own Classpect without inherenting a Class or Aspect of their Guardian / Ancestor; Not defined by worldly, physical or psychic capability).

- Each Classpect can be played differently. Two Heirs of Breath are gonna play it completely different from the other. It’d be dull if every Heir of Breath was John.

- Game “Pieces” can have Classpects to. I’m gonna get into this. Big time Intermission Fan, and avid studier of the Carapacians, the Leprechauns, and maybe even the Consorts.

And finally, the interpretation I’ve accepted for Classes. Its more complicated than this, and there’s faaar more to it. But here’s a basic list.

ACT / PASS WITCH - HEIR  - I change Additional Witch - I choose (which) Additional Heir - I inherit (I air / I err)

MAGE - SEER - I know Additional Mage - I cast (perform tricks / miracles) Additional Seer - I envision (I see)

THIEF - ROGUE - I steal Additional Thief - I steel / fortify (steel yourselves) Additional Rogue - I haywire (I go rogue)

PAGE - KNIGHT - I serve Additional Page - I employ (I, a Page, command a Chapter) Additional Knight - I guard (the night)

MAID - SYLPH - I create. Additional Maid - I am (Made of) Additional Sylph - I embody

PRINCE - BARD - I destroy. Additional Prince - I regulate (I rule; Its the principle of the thing) Additional Bard - I prevent (I bard / Barred)

Its not just down to how we interpret it, its also down to the characters too. And that’s one of the hardest parts here.

Guidelines

Hello. I’m quite excited to start this imagines blog! This is a side blog. I follow back with my main, @mirrors-never-lie.

Since I am a novice at this, please feel free to give any corrections/constructive criticism.

That being said, here are my guidelines:

Acceptable ‘Genre’

I will write for:

- ANY genre/topic

     - I.e, angst, fluff, etc

- NSFW

I will NOT write for anything promoting these toxic topics:

- Pedophilia

- Toxic drug/sexual abuse

- Homophobia/racism/sexism/ableism

(NOTE: If your request is something that technically includes one of the three topics but doesn’t promote it, based on the circumstances, I might accept it. See after ‘Specifics’ for sending unacceptable requests).

Acceptable Relationship/Pairs

I will write for:

- LGBTQ+, poly, straight, romantic, platonic-  basically any type of relationship

- Reader X character(s)

- S/o X character(s)

- ‘Dekubowl’, ‘Bakusquad’, ‘Dekusquad’, etc are fine

I will NOT write for:

- Particular BNHA ships between characters

- Any relationship/pair that promotes toxic topics (see above, under ‘Acceptable Genre’)

Acceptable Ask ‘Types’

I will answer:

- Headcanons

- Scenarios

- Prompts

- Asks including AU’s

- Asks that have the same request as ones I’ve done previously, but with different characters involved

I will NOT answer:

- Asks regarding things/characters that have, so far, only happened/been mentioned in the manga*

- Match-ups**

    *I want to avoid spoilers, since I know many people (including me, unfortunately!) aren’t caught up with the manga. I’m catching up, though, so I’m hoping to accept these types of asks soon. I accept requests for Dabi and Toga, despite their brief introductions in the anime.

    **I’m avoiding match-ups because I want to try headcanons/scenarios first, and I want to get comfortable with this blog before trying match-ups.

Specifics

I will:

- Notify trigger warnings at the start and the post and tag them (tw stands for trigger warning. The trigger warnings I have will consist of violence/graphic scenes, vomit, blood, death, harm...let me know if you’d like more trigger warnings added)

- Add “Keep Reading"s in NSFW posts

What I’d like you to do:

- Send requests through the “Send a Request/Ask” option

- Avoid asks that involve more than FOUR characters. This means that you can submit asks including four characters, but no more.

- Let me know what pronouns an s/o goes by (I will use they/them as pronouns if not specified)

- Please be fairly specific about your request

     - Ex: “Bakugou headcanons” won’t be ideal for me, because it’s vague. Something like “Bakugou and his flirty s/o headcanons” is more specific/easier for me to write.

- Specify what type of request you’d like for me to write

     - I.e, tell me if you want a scenario or headcanons; if it’s not specified, I’ll make an assumption. You’re always welcome to send the ask in again specifying what you wanted, and I’ll rewrite it.
