BILL COBBS (1934-Died June 25th 2024,at 90). American actor, known for such film roles as Louisiana Slim in The Hitter (1979), Walter in The Brother from Another Planet (1984), Reginald in Night at the Museum (2006) and Master Tinker on Oz the Great and Powerful (2013). He also played Lewis Coleman on I'll Fly Away (1991–1993), Jack on The Michael Richards Show (2000), and had guest appearances on Walker, Texas Ranger and The Sopranos. In 2012, he had a reoccurring role as George in the sitcom, Go On. Eliot was born on October 30th in Winona, WV, to 14 year old Diana Ramsey, before being taken from his mother and driven to Harlan County, Kentucky, where he was found by Sarah Jean Spencer, a nurse at the Harlan County Hospital. Eliot was raised as Sarah Jean's son, alongside his older sister, her daughter Maybelle. Sarah Jean's husband, Matthew David Spencer, was a coal mine worker.

Matthew was an alcoholic with a temper who never took too kindly to Eliot's presence in his house. He resented the son that Sarah Jean had brought home, hated everything about taking the boy in. WHen Maybelle left home when Eliot was twelve, Matthew turned that hatred physical.

Though Matthew tended to keep his abuse hidden to times when Sarah Jean was at the hospital, she knew that he was hurting Eliot. When Eliot was sixteen, she stepped in between them and Matthew's hand, which had been going to strike Eliot, hit her instead. The force of the blow broke her neck and Sarah Jean died on the spot.

Eliot, terrified that Matthew would either kill him too or frame him for his mother's murder, fled. He ran away from Harlan County with nothing but the clothes on his back. He ran until he got to Georgia. He went straight to a recruiter and signed on to join the army, lying about his age so that he would be let in.

Eliot did not find out about his birth mother until he was working for Damien Moreau. Moreau sent him to West Virginia to sabotage a cattle ranch there. The owner of the ranch, Barret Allen, recognized several of Eliot's features as being the same shared by his sister-in-law, Diana, and convinced Eliot to do a DNA test with him.

When Barret discovered that Eliot was his nephew, he took Eliot to Diana immediately, knowing he couldn't keep him a secret. Barret had known nothing about Diana and his brother, Jonah, about the events leading to Eliot's birth, or even about Eliot himself. Eliot, unsure of what to do with it all, disappeared for two weeks.

Diana is Eliot's best kept secret. He loves his mother, has treasured every moment that he's gotten to know her, but he isn't going to put her out there where people could hurt or criticize her for having a child so young.
