humans are so cute
we create these tiny spaces of magic, like gardens and aquariums and museums and art exhibits, these smalls snippets into other worlds. we sit and we stare and we bring the people we love to enjoy the unfamiliar with us.
there is an intense curiosity in the human experience, a sort of yearning for the unknown.
we’ve been to the bottom of the ocean and sent robots to mars. there are messages floating through space in search of an answer, ‘how are you? have you eaten yet?’ ‘are you well?’ ‘please come here to visit when you have time’
a man just like you, just like me, has stepped a hesitant foot onto the surface of the moon and looked down on our planet from above.
i often find myself wondering if he, watching all he has ever known grow smaller behind him, wished he had brought someone he loved to see it too.
