Kai
-There is not a single person on the team this man does not bully 24/7. Although it is how he shows love
-Acts tough and untouchable but is actually very sensitive
-Scolds his friends for doing reckless things (and then does something 20x more reckless anyway)
-Sings in the shower
-Loves the attention
-Is a professional modeler
-Has been the cover of many fashion magazines
-Will tackle Cole randomly throughout the week, and they would just wrestle until someone gives up (these matches can go on forever)
-Mercilessly tickles/teases Jay (especially when he can tell his friend is having a bad day.)
-Feels very protective over Lloyd and Nya, and isn’t afraid to show it
-Is the second most annoying person on the team
-Desperately tries to get rid of any trauma he might have because he doesn’t want to eventually talk to his friends about it. Since he’s always trying to look after them, he sometimes forgets he needs to be looked after too.
-Does NOT have a healthy relationship with his parents
-Uses way to much hair product
-Hates vanilla flavoured ice cream
-Loves spicy food
-Is Mexican but doesn’t know how to speak Spanish (ironically)
-Was illiterate for years until Zane found out and taught him how to read
-Often sleeps in his friends’ rooms because he’s scared of what could happen to them
And it was very fun to watch with its fun characters, cute comedy and great twist and turns that I couldn’t figure out during the show, but the overall mystery of it was easy to figure out since it had a very familiar virtual world video game format, or I just happen to watch a lot of shows that happen to have that trope. Luckily it was only ten episodes with the truth revealed by the second half.
Though the ending took me by surprise, it left me like everyone else unsatisfied because like everyone else in the fandom, it left way too many questions that some of it asked by its own characters.
How are the players reactions after experiencing such a realistic event that caused all THREE of them to have near DEATH experience and develop feelings for each other?
What are the players real relationships in the real world and why were they chosen? Are they friends? Were they chosen by random?
At the end, it only showed that they get to choose their powers and lose their memories, so what about Kai’s technological intelligence? He’s only 15, so is he some super genius or was that intelligence implanted in him with the fire power since Mira has both the abilities to swim like a mermaid and talk to animals.
In that matter, what did Dave really see in Adam? His ability was just to kick butt but nothing really special happened to give such a weary warning. I guess he wielded the stick but that’s no surprise I guess.
Did Vanessa and her team hack into the system in order to not lose their memories so they could cheat?
What happened to Vanessa and her team during the whole virtual melt down?
Does the answer to question 5 or 6 explain Vanessa’s eye glitch?
What caused the corruption in the game?
Will there be a second season in order to expand the purpose of this game and the relationship between the players?
Which will honestly be weird since the players have different live-action actors and voice actors.
Who was that Weird Guy character in both live action and in the video game? Is he just a host or more?
Does the players only have one life?
And so much more, and there are theories but I hope there will be a second season. Totally up for one that may involve the characters trying to fix the game on the inside to keep the animation, and Vanessa’s team trying to change the world into their own ideas to make up for their loss. Maybe even add a new enemy like a rivaling company putting its own host inside like some sort of virus that’s all posh and mature like a butler.
Onto the characters:
I absolutely love Mira. She’s cool, brave, loving, supportive, clever, and definitely the strongest character on Team KAM while Reeves is the strongest on team RVS. Though gotta give the strongest title to Reeves since he can use his abilities anywhere while Mira would’ve been left defenseless at the desert. Also, I like how she handled Adam’s rejection, and how she balances the boys by having a good sense of humor but also kept focus on the task.
Kai was annoying at first. Too big of a scaredy cat and too talkative for his own good. But that quickly changed by the third episode once his brilliance started showing and he began showing better signs of bravery and loyalty. He’s obviously the main protagonist of the show who had the most development among any of them. He’s definitely became a favorite of mine by the end.
Adam was the Red ranger of the group with his leadership and fighting skills along with his observant nature and instincts. I liked him because he was closer to the truth and made some of the right calls which made the series not frustrating at all. And his development is interesting since Kai’s and his are reverse where as Kai became a stronger character, Adam’s own became more unraveled by his growing impatience, frustration, and violent decisions against the imposing team.
As for the imposing team, they’re assholes with their own set of charms.
Vanessa definitely has a competitive streak with a talent for lying and scheming.
Reeves is the most powerful of them, but he has a very egotistical attitude that would make him childish and outright malignant.
Skeet was the dumb one who just followed along with the decisions of his terrible teammates so I have no real opinion on him, but could serve as a good guy for season 2 since he isn’t bad.
Every other character in the show were creative by how they were obvious inspirations from legends such as Theseus and the Minotaur, famous children stories such as Hansel and Gretel, and movies such as Alien. They were definitely fun to see interact with the main characters, so I always looked forward to who else they were going to meet next.
The tragedy of Winn Adami is that she was an excellent Vedek. If she could have been satisfied with her position and the will of the Prophets role for her, then she would have led a better life.
