Elena knocked on your door. “I am ready!” You replied back and opened the door. She was standing at the door, dressed elegantly. “Oh sweetheart, you look gorgeous.” She exclaimed. “You too.” You glanced at the clock. “I think we should get going.” Elena chuckles. “Yeah!” “Just a moment,” You mumbled the rest part. “Let me grab my phone.”
You ascended the stairs and went inside your room in search of your phone. Oh, that drawer was open. You went to close it. There lay a picture of your beloved. The most handsome man in this world. An unrequited love. Which made you feel a lot of things but never loved. You could stare at that picture forever and relieve all the memories you had with him but you can’t. You don’t want to relieve that feeling of falling in love but never receiving the love back. I should’ve confessed.
You aggressively closed the drawer and turned around, trying to wash away all the thoughts of him from your brain. You grabbed your phone and walked downstairs.
“It took you long,” Elena said “Sorry, just nature’s call.” You replied as you both walked together.
Just arriving you were left alone by yourself when the Salvatore brothers took your friend away from you. You stood in the corner by yourself. Your eyes caught a strange glimpse.
‘That’s my man’ You said to yourself. It was one of your weird fantasies. He was none other than your old flame talking to your best friend.
He stood at the doorway. “Look, Elijah, this area is under my territory and from the tree to this line is yours.” You said. “Now, which sword do you want? Blue or red?” You want him to take the blue so that the red one could be yours. “Red one looks good. But I think the blue one will be mine.” “Okay.” You grabbed the red sword and mumbled ‘thank you’ under your breath. “Y/N, you’re amazing. That’s why I love you.” “You’re my best friend Elijah.” You laughed.
You thought of approaching him. But it’s not an easy task. Uh! I hate him! Your feelings for him felt as fresh as a deep gash from a sharp blade. Your brain kept on tossing coins about whether to approach him or not. Yes, I should at least talk to him. But there were changes in plans when another gentleman approached you. “May I have this dance?” You couldn’t refuse. Not when everyone was looking at you. “Yeah sure.” You tried to sneak a glance at him whilst the gentleman grabbed your hand to kiss your knuckles. They look very serious in their conversation.
“Y/N, do you like it?” He asked. You gave him a loving glance and looked over to the dress he got you. “Elijah, I love it! This is absolutely stunning.” "You should wear it to the ball tonight." "I will."
“Excuse me.” You were snapped out of your thoughts.
“Y/N, can you come with me?” It was Elena. “Yeah, excuse me.” You left the gentleman and went along with Elena.
“What happened Elena?” You asked.
“I want you to meet someone.” She replied and she stopped in front of a man. She clears her throat and the man turned around. “Y/N, Elijah. Elijah, Y/N.” Both you’re and his mouths were opened when you saw each other.
“It seems like you both already know each other.” Elena breaks your staring contest. “Maybe,” Elijah replied. Elena scrunches her nose in confusion. Her phone rang. “Well, if you excuse me.” She said, leaving you both behind.
“Elijah!” You exclaimed. “Y/N, you are alive.” He said, to himself. You two started walking together, side by side. “This dress looks stunning on you.” He complimented you. “Thanks.”
He offered his hand, “Would you care to dance?” You grabbed his hand and he led you to the dance floor. “My dear, this dress looks absolutely stunning on you.” “Yeah, because it is.” “No, because you are.”
“You’re friends with Elena?” You asked him. “Nope.” “Then?” “She is Katerina’s doppelganger.” A tinge of jealousy ran through your whole body at the mention of her name. He was madly in love with her. “Yeah, that she is. So, is she your girlfriend?” “Uh, no. Why do you think that?” “Just because you liked ‘Katerina’.” You both stopped at the balcony and fell silent. “Well, what happened with her?” “I was searching for her.” “Y/N,” He held your hand in his, “where were you all these years?” “Trying to survive. I had no choice but to run and hide for years.” “Does anyone know here?” “Know what?” You knitted your eyebrows. “That you’re an original?” You shook your head. “I am sorry for abandoning you, Y/N.” He pulled you closer to his chest. You dug into his chest as you both wrapped arms around each other. “You will always be my first love.” He mumbled to himself and his voice broke. Those words bring you a shock. You pulled away to look into his eyes. “What?” “Do you love me?” You asked as your eyes watered. “Yes Y/N." He said. "I was in a delusion that love is what you feel for some beautiful woman with multiple suitors.” You scoffed in annoyance, “So you’re telling me I didn’t have suitors?” “No! You misinterpreted it. I should’ve used the world popular.” “What!” You jaw drops in disbelief. “I’ve never felt such unwanted.” You said, trying to annoy him. “Y/N, that’s not what I meant-” “Elijah I-” You were cut off by a passionate kiss. “-too love you.” He pulled you closer and pressed his lips on your forehead.
