Deja Vu
This should be a cool one! Longtime Cleveland graphic artist, Aaron Lange, has finally wrapped up his book about the early-mid-70s Cleveland proto-punk milieu, so keep an eye out for it -- it comes out in October!
And here's a great Please Kill Me oral history piece from 2019 about graphic novel cover boy, Peter Laughner. I didn't write it, but I've posted a bunch about Laughner before.
I just know our first sight into Erilea if Lunathion and/or Prythian open a gate to that world will be Manon Blackbeak. Mark my words.

Three ships: Currently obsessed with Dreamling (Hob x Morpheus // The Sandman), but Merthur (Merlin x Arthur // BBC's Merlin) and Geraskier (Geralt x Jaskier //The Witcher Series) will forever hold special places in my heart
First ever ship: It might be Destiel?? it's either that or Merthur, I honestly don't remember
Last song: Black Lipstick by Powerman 5000...recently it's been giving me 80's Dreamling vibes, but like. If they went to an 80's themed night club and acted-out how the 1989 meeting would have gone, should they have met up...god I have a whole idea around this now
Last movie: Kingsman The Golden Circle. I fucking love the kingsman movies, specifically the first two...idk about the prequel, but the first two are definitely up there with my favourite movies of all time. It takes a special kind of self restraint not to watch those two movies back to back to back for 10 hours straight
Currently reading: Giving Sanctuary by @avelera (Forever eating bricks over this fic - in the best way), but Shelter by @softest-punk, Fey Divorce Court Isn't a Thing by @moorishflower, and literally countless other fantastic fics are in my marked for later, ready to be read when my brain wants to cooperate. There are so many damn good fics out there, the talent is insane
Currently watching: Nothing much tbh...another Sandman rewatch is in order I think, as well as Good Omens, but besides that it's mostly been movies with the occasional episode of something in between to spice things up. Labyrinth, X-men first class & days of future past, Derry Girls, Sense8, etc
Currently consuming: Gozleme. So much chicken gozleme it's not even funny
Currently craving: A good night's sleep and a little bit of hope, but I'll settle for some warm food...or a strawberry thickshake

No pressure, just some fun !! :)
dean's never been an art guy. no shit. if there's art at the bottom of a beer bottle, or in the blinking neon letters spelling out GIRLS! GIRLS! GIRLS!, or in the spurt of spilt ketchup over a cheap formica tabletop, then sure, he can get behind that. but art art? marble columns and stained paintings and cracked vases? nah. that ain't his bag.
and yet.
recently he's started doing this. this thing. developed this habit. obsession. whatever.
there's this painting.
he wishes he could say he stumbled across it accidentally, hadn't gone out his way to drag it up, but that's not true. he doesn't remember when he saw it first, must've been a kid, one of the few days he was actually in class. but anyway.
he finds it again. one night - it's late, sam's passed out, gone 3am, and dean can't sleep. neon motel sign beyond their window's blinking like a firework, and it's dead quiet, 'cept for the hiss of the rain and the low murmur of a tv set in the next room.
he yanks sammy's laptop out his duffel, and types in one word.
angels
he has to sift through a lot of crap - cartoons and love hearts and one particularly distracting website called angelgirls.com (they're pretty, but they sure as hell aren't angels) - but he finds it. the seven works of mercy.
it's the angel.
its wings curl up to a black sky, like it's fighting, struggling. one hand is outstretched to the earth, reaching endlessly. it's dark and cracked and grimy; it's anything but comforting. and yet he hasn't been able to shake it. it's like it's seared itself onto his mind.
the handprint on his shoulder burns.
after that, he looks for the angels every night. it's like his eyes are greedy, aching; searching the dark corners of digital canvases for their great, arching wings, their brilliant eyes, their taught, elegant muscles. he likes sacred love and profane love, but he prefers nativity with st francis and st lawrence. he starts to recognise the names; caravaggio, baglione, gentileschi. not that he cares. it's just the angels. the paintings are beautiful and painful. he doesn't know the proper words, whatever. he doesn't care.
he can't stop looking at them. ever since he came back. he doesn't know why; he sure as hell doesn't think they're real. it's like a dream, something he's struggling to remember. sometimes, in the paintings, in the captured agony and ecstasy and grief, there's a spark - a memory - confusion, darkness, pain, and the hand, reaching down out of a great, dark sky. then there's - bliss. oblivion. relief.
he wipes the browser every night before he falls asleep.
