Evan Hansen: *singing If I Could Tell Her*
Cynthia and Larry Murphy, not knowing that Zoe is with Evan, wondering why Evan is yelling "I love you" in their dead son's bedroom: ???
Connor put notes in Zoeâs lunch.
Occasionally. Like when she had big tests, or a presentation. Just something short, like a âyou got thisâ or a âgood luckâ, or even just a star or a happy face. Zoe always assumed Cynthia wrote them. One day during her senior year, Zoe asked her mom why she stopped. Thatâs when she found out.
Have some mother-son love (again, not my art <3)
okay so it's obviously not perfect but I tried fixing Zoe in the picture I did a few days ago and I think it turned out a lot better.
Are you still doing the thing where people can request DEH fics? Because if so i feel like it would be cool to see the Murphy family's reactions the first time Connor painted his nails black and when he told them he was gay? I'm sorry, you dont have to do this, i just thought it would be sort of interesting. Thankss đ
I sure am! and Iâm happy to do it too, no need to apologize! x the more requests, the merrier! ~Connor cracked open a window. He had no idea this stuff smelled so intense. He didnât know what he was thinking when he snatched Zoeâs black nail polish, he had just been bored and suddenly felt the need to do something about his looks. And letâs face it, this shit was pretty cool. After making a mess of his floor and his hands, with his tongue hanging out of his mouth the whole time he focused hard on the task, he was satisfied with the result. His nails were matte black and he loved it.How edgy is this? No guy at his school wore nail polish and instead of feeling embarrassed about being different, Connor felt empowered. He was the weird kid anyway, why not go all out?Connor stared at his hands, modeling them in front of his face to see the full effect of his art work. Yes. Definitely a good idea.Suddenly he heard pounding on his door.âConnor! Have you been in my room again? I told you to stop going through my stuff!â Zoeâs voice pierced through the door.Connor sighed and rolled the cap closed on nail polish bottle. Then he got up to open the door.âSorry, I just borrowed this for a minute. All yours.â He said and handed Zoe the bottle.âYou borrowed nail polish?â Zoe asked confused and then her eyes traveled down to Connorâs nails. âOh my god, you painted your nails!â She squealed. Then she started laughing.âWhat? Guys can paint their nails too.â Connor defended himself, determined not to feel embarrassed about his fashion choice. Zoe laughed again.âYeah, I know, itâs just⌠Connor your fingers are a mess!â She laughed at him. Connor rolled his eyes. âWell, itâs not like Iâve done this before, youâve had a head start.â He mumbled.Zoe laughed. âI know. Come here.â She said and walked back into her room. Connor stood still and confused for a moment before following her to her room.Zoe handed him a bottle of nail polish remover and a q-tip.âLet me introduce you to my good friend, the q-tip. Youâre supposed to clean off the excess so that it doesnât look like you just dipped your fingers in the nail polish, you doofus.â She chuckled and pushed the bottle and q-tip in Connorâs hands. Connor looked at them and then back at Zoe.âOh⌠Thanks, Zo.â He said, still taken aback by her kindness. He and Zoe didnât hate each other, they just⌠Didnât interact much unless it was to scream at each other for something the other did wrong.âSure. I want the nail polish remover back though. If youâre gonna start painting your nails regularly, youâre gonna have to buy your own supplies. Iâve only got enough for one.â Zoe explained. âFair enough.â Connor replied and walked back into his room to clean his nails up.
At the dinner table, Connor got to experience the other reaction to his new look.âWhat the hell is on your hands?â Connor was suddenly dragged out of his own thoughts by Larryâs voice.âItâs just nail polish. Chill.â Connor offhandedly replied. âYou mean you did that on purpose?â Larry acquired.âLarryâŚâ Cynthia said in a warning tone. That was Connorâs parents roles in the family: Larry flipped his shit over the smallest things and sweet Cynthia tried to calm his ass down.âYeah. This donât exactly happen on accident.â Connor sarcastically replied.âWhy the hell would you do that?â Larry wouldnât let the subject go.âBecause I wanted to?â Connor replied, now very annoyed.âConnor, thatâs stupid.â Larry said. âNail polish is for women and queers.â He continued.âDad, come on, itâs just nail polish.â Zoe chimed in too, which Connor was grateful for, but it was too late now.âNail polish isnât gender specific, nothing is really and even if it was, so what? Who is my nail painting hurting?â Connor replied and crossed his hands across his chest.âYou as a man wearing nail polish gives people the wrong idea!â Larry argued.âAnd whatâs that?â Connor asked.âThat youâre a queer!â Larry raised his voice.âLarry, please, inside voice.â Cynthia tried to remind him.âSo?â Connor challenged.âSo!?â Larry repeated.âYeah, so? Who cares?â Connor argued.âI do! I donât want people thinking my son is a queer!â Larry said.âWhy not? Theyâd have the right idea.â Connor replied. There. Heâd said it.Cynthia and Zoe looked shocked. Larry was fuming.âExcuse me!?â He basically yelled.âYou heard me.â Connor simply said.âAre you seriously telling me that-ââIâm gay. Yeah. Great solve, Sherlock.â Connor replied, knowing full well that his sarcasm would not be welcomed in this situation.Larry stared at his son and Connor could swear he saw smoke coming out of his ears. After a minute of silence, Larry stood up from the table.âNo.â He said.âNo?â Connor asked, not believing his ears.âNo.â Larry repeated and walked out of the dining room, leaving his barely touched dinner on the table. The remaining Murphyâs sat quietly at the table. Connor couldnât believe what had just happened. Ever since he came to understand his sexuality, he knew the day heâd come out would not be pretty. Connor himself didnât have a sexuality crisis or any kind of a freak out over the matter. By the time he figured it out, it was like everything clicked into place. He accepted it. He was nervous for other peopleâs reactions, but since heâd already gotten the role of the weird kid with no friends, his worries faded away. Being gay was probably not the biggest reason people wanted nothing to do with him. But all Larry, his father, could say was ânoâ? This was ridiculous. Utter bullshit.âConnor.â His motherâs voice brought him back to the situation at hand. He turned to look at her without saying anything.âI will talk to your father. He just needs some time.â Cynthia said, looking at Connor with sympathetic eyes.âOh yeah, Iâm sure Larry will be thrilled in no time.â Connor said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.âYour father is not a bad man. I will talk to him and everything will go back to normal.â Cynthia promised.âNormal as in where Iâm not gay? Cause Iâm sorry to inform you mom, but you canât pray the gay away.â Connor said.âHoney, I know that.â Cynthia assured him. âThatâs not what I meant. I mean, it will all be okay.â She said.Connor was skeptical with the idea of Larry ever being okay with who Connor was, but he didnât want to argue with his mother, who believed she could fix and cure everyone. He gave his mother a small smile.âThanks mom.â He said.Cynthia smiled back and got up from her seat.âI love you, Connor.â She said, before walking out towards the same direction Larry had disappeared in.Connor sighed. What a fucking day.âOkay.â Zoe spoke up for the first time in a while and Connor turned to look at her.âLetâs go buy you some goddamn nail polish.â She continued.Connor laughed. Despite all her flaws and their disagreements, his sister could be pretty fucking great. ~I wrote this out really quick & Iâm sorry itâs so short, I hope you like it anyway!~if you have any ideas for deh fics, send them my way & Iâll be happy to write them! my inbox is open! x
Daily Doodle! 7/4/17
I figured that celebrating the Fourth of July with fireworks is out of the question for the Murphyâs. So instead, they make glow in the dark bubbles! much safer and much less likely to catch fire!Â
Yeah...No. Forget about it.
