The Seeing Orb

AKA What if Orb v2.0

It's after season 2 (but before Lilith's phone call) and Lucifer is realising that he is vulnerable, he can't hurt sinners but they can hurt him, he has no soft power because no one respects him.

Alastor, meanwhile, is both once again widely acknowledged and feared and respected - everyone believes he deliberately got captured by Vox to set up a deal to make him the most powerful sinner in hell purely so he could have a fun fight that was actually a challenge - and they remember how when Vox was at 100 percent, Alastor took him down in like five seconds flat.

Alastor also is now all in on (manipulating Charlie) making the hotel succeeds, so he brings the Overlords (and because Husk is moping and it's annoying he ensure Valentino brings Angel Dust as well) with a deal/vow everyone makes to not hurt or kill anyone - which allows the Vees to bring Ipad Vox in Val's bag. The Vees also bring reporters/camera's because they are milking this for all it's worth.

Charlie is ecstatic! Hell and Heaven are getting behind her plan!

So Lucifer decides to one up him by using his own soft power - his contacts with heaven.

Emily arrives with that orb Sera uses to see Hell, and they let them know what it is. It's an artificat created by God Themself and while it's mostly used NOW to see the present, it can also be used to see the past, close possibilities of the future (like if your going to trip in the next five seconds or so) and possibilities of things that could have happened, and it answers questions.

So it will help reassure them and help them learn about Redemption and so on!

(Alastor is pulling out the chair for Emily to sit in and giving her food and water and making sure she's comfortable and Charlie is noticing and she doesn't know why she doesn't like it.)

And so the Overlords start using the orb, going over things, and at some point - Valentino and Velvette start pulling 'we saved everyone'.

And Lucifer sees the Overlords grousing about Valentino claiming to have saved the day when he and Velvette only joined in after the golden ball was completed and rising, and so Lucifer brings that up...and the turning point.

Because he thinks it was Charlie. That seeing all the overlords helping gave her a boost and unlocked her power.

But it shows Alastor instead.

If Alastor hadn't showed up...everyone would have died.

(I'm gonna give a bit of math here from hear my hope. Considering the math of how much the golden light went over the weapon, Emily Charlie Husk and Niffty had one quarter/third or so, the other six overlords had 2 quarters/one third, and Alastor and Rosie had the other quarter/third, so… Charlie and Emily, Princess of Hell and Seraphim - 2 overlords each. Alastor and Rosie - either three overlords each, she is 2 and he is four - or she's a normal overlord and he is worth FIVE. Before Vox started killing people with the weapon and lost his ratings/power, Alastor was weakened/staffless and injured, and kicked his ass, even though Vox was widely considered at that point the most powerful sinner in Hell.)

Pentagram State University AU Overview

I started this as a joke but now I’m lowkey hyperfixated on it and might actually make a one shot compilation if not lowkey a series rewrite. This is one of those sudden dopamine-inducing ideas that’s going to stick with me for a while, which is also unfortunate because I have a lot of legitimate serious fic ideas too but this is gonna win out in my mind right now and if I have to deal with American university nonsense everyone else does too. PLEASE send me asks about this I am actually losing my mind over it and making it everyone’s problem.

Lucifer (and by association Lilith whenever we learn about her), Adam, and Sera are currently the only professors. Rosie and Lute are grad students because we aren’t sure their deal yet. Everyone else is undergrad, mostly year-unspecified with some exceptions.

Going to try to make this initial post only have canon ships but as a multishipper I cannot promise it will stay that way.

Lucifer is the dean of like the humanities school or whatever specifics they have there— I think all the Sins should be deans of a respective school in the university if I ever want to expand more into Helluva lore. (The Speaker of God is the president of the whole university.)

Charlie is his daughter, double-majoring in psychology and theatre. She is very set on trying to help everyone with their issues using theories from class and that is very Mixed Results.

Vaggi and Emily are both also psych majors, but Vaggi is more on the social work side of things. She’s also former ROTC. Emily’s older sister Sera is a law professor.

Adam also used to be a professor (of ethics and moral philosophy) but he was recently fired for grievances such as hooking up with undergrads, having an unprofessional relationship with his TA Lute, failing students for no real reason, and getting into fist fights with Lucifer in the parking lot, 

Lute is a law student and also ROTC. Abel, Adam’s son, is a nerdy and awkward music major. 

Now onto the Cooler and More Important People, Definitely, we have Vox, double majoring in Finance and Political Science (and a minor in probably some entrepreneurial tech AI bullshit). He’s the president of his business frat and in a wonderful greek life duo (couple? best friends? nobody knows but the two are so popular anyways) with Velvette, who is somehow (don’t ask how) doing some triple degree shit with Chemistry, Sociology, and Marketing. She’s the world’s biggest overachiever and also her sorority president. Everybody would kill to be her.

But, the two of them would not be complete without their third, who is notably more nerdy and also would get them cancelled very quickly surely. Valentino is an art major in a VERY secret relationship with Vox, and a more open one with Angel Dust, who is getting paid to do life modeling for a class Val is in. Val has a ton of allegations against him but is also a charming, if nerdy and weird and overly passionate, guy. 

Angel Dust himself is a performance major, currently struggling to pay for college after his rich parents stopped funding him for many reasons involving his major, his sexuality, and how he spends his free time. He’s a huge partier, a bit of a vandal, and going through a lot of bullshit with Val. (He also has an adorable corgi Fat Nuggets who deserves eternal love and joy.)

Husk is a nontraditional student who came back to school after dropping out several years ago. He’s a bartender at a local bar and in a confidential campus addiction recovery group that Angel ends up joining. He started doing something boring and marketable, some kind of business maybe, but eventually switches to English. He’s also in a handful of culinary classes for fun, with Alastor, who has some kind of blackmail over him (something like a past DUI or equally bad-but-not-awful). 

Alastor is a culinary major and an absolute enigma. He has never had the same roommate for more than a month at a time (Vox thinks he’s eating his roommates, which should get him fucking canceled because what the fuck Vox you can’t say that shit white baby) but he has consistently had the same suitemate, Niffty, who is equally bizarre and a hospitality management major (though she might switch to bioengineering soon…). His only other “friend” is more by necessity; Al’s here on a scholarship that requires him to have a certain amount of community service hours completed every semester, and his graduate student mentor for the program is none other than Rosie, who is a med student and possibly even quirkier than Alastor. (Vox you need to stop saying they eat people PLEASE-)

(Alastor and Vox had an orientation-week emotional fling back in freshman year. Despite being seniors now, Vox is not over it whatsoever.)

The Overlords are just Student Council members representing different orgs (the business frat, etc.) Carmilla is an engineering student and some kind of big STEM org leader, which Vox is sexist about surely. (Zestial is fucking idk classics club.) 

Speaking of engineering, Cherri and Pentious are both engineering students (Cherri is double majoring in gender/sexuality studies just for the bit) and they’re both in skate club together even though Pentious sucks ass at it. His friend and former roommate, Baxter, is a comp sci and bioengineering double major, but is also in Vox’s frat. 

And Katie Killjoy and Tom Trench run the campus newspaper of course.

I will add if I think of anything else super integral to the lore, but this is singlehandedly going to get me through the rest of finals. I am absolutely obsessed and everyone else should be too.

Pfff Carmilla and Alastor both bout to be drunk at the overlords meetings and somehow they are just...complete bff's when drunk? Alastor hands over the liquor, next thing anyone knows Carmillas hair is down and she's letting Alastor braid it for whatever fucking reason while she tries to talk about whatever the meeting was about and more than once forgets to speak in a language the rest of the room knows reverting either to her native tongue or Spanish or into something she picked up as Overlord like Eldritch

And Rosie's now trying to juggle both of them and get them both sober while they play with her hat and paint her nails.

Alastor and Carmilla never knew how much they had in common! ♪~ ᕕ(ᐛ)ᕗ They both have a crush on like being around Zestial, they both hate the Vee's, they both love gossiping (Carmilla has a lot of tea to spill, much to Alastor's surprise and delight), and they're both an appreciator of exquisite cuisine. The meeting just started, and they're already leaving because Alastor told her about this recipe that she just had to try.

I love the idea of Alastor knowing how to braid ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ And Carmilla looks so pretty with her hair down, I'm pretty I'd short-circuit if it were me.

What makes it better is that when they're sober again? They don't remember any of it. And no one can even get picture or video proof because Alastor shorts out every camera and ruins every photo.

They're besties and they don't even know it.
