Brass Dancing Shiva Statue with 10 arms
My top three Creepypasta picks.
I’ve read a lot of Creepypastas. Granted there’s probably thousands more, but out of all I’ve ever read, these three are my favourites and are amazing reads.
3. the Remover. Vampyres. Vampyres everywhere! This is a “Creepypasta” that focuses in on a young (?) vampyre who’s life is about to change. And these are not the sparkly, gay ass vampires, these are the ones that live for centuries, possibly millenniums, the ones that are mortal but more resistant than their human counterparts. I adore how the author explains every detail of how the vampires live their lives and survive. It’s a long read, as all of my top three are, but that gives the story plenty of room to expand. This story is dark and deep, slightly unnerving and suspenseful, but not enough to be a “scary” Creepypasta that’ll keep you up at night. Unless, of course, ghost girls, mutilation, and blood draining animals freak you out. The story, however, felt like it ended too soon. The writer could have made it into a best selling novel but they kept the story as it was. It is because of that this cp rates number 3 for me.
2. The Showers. This Creepypasta definitely fits the “creepy vibe”. Being so long, I had to stop reading halfway through and while I was on break, this terrifying story lingered in my mind, feeding on the growing paranoia it instilled. This story has a Grudge feel to it as well, but it’s very well executed and makes sure to separate itself from the horror movie. The story comes from a graduates perspective, and after meeting with an old professor whom told them stories from his teen years during all hallow’s eve days in high school, he asks if the stories were true. The professor replies with a solemn yes and warns the young man not to go after the haunted place the professor went to as a kid. Doing the absolute opposite, the young man and his friend take a road trip, just to prove to themselves this place is real. I’d love to reread this one again like the other two, and it’s best read in the dark! It had a very satisfying ending and felt like nothing was left out of place. It’s by far one of the scariest I’ve ever read.
( honourable mentions goes to two Creepypastas With names I cannot remember. One was about a young man who needed cash, and after finding an ad in the paper looking for test subjects in need of easy money, he took it without hesitation. In the lab he was made to create an imaginary friend who becomes all too real. The second is about a cocky man who is also in need of money. Hearing of this supposed haunted house that gives cash to anyone who can complete it, he goes to find it almost immediately. He then quickly learns he bit off more then he could chew. Both of these stories were terrifying and they’d be my 4th and 5th, and I’m sorry I can’t give a title.)
1. the Doors. Again, this is a Creepypasta that focuses more on paranoia than white terror, but that doesn’t stop it from having the top spot for me. A guy wakes up in a white room with no previous memory, his only company a voice that occasionally comes on over the loudspeakers in his room. This story goes through great lengths to convey the poor man’s feelings and his mind in the increasingly hellish room. I absolutely love this story for its psychological effects and in depth perception. I also love it because it is similar to the novel I’m writing but that’s beyond the point. This Creepypasta is my favourite and I’d recommend it to anyone who enjoys a philosophical, paranoia driven trip into someone’s lucid mind.
Happy reading!
