Seven-Sentence Sunday!
not tagged by anyone bc no one asked for this <3
also... this is far more than seven sentences but IDC
Eddie shuffles out of his bedroom to greet the man while he fidgets with his cufflinks. “Hey, man,” he says as he joins the rest of them.
A dramatic cat-call-type whistle erupts from Buck’s lips. “Whoa,” he yells dramatically. “Are you going on a date or getting married?”
Christopher bursts into a fit of snickers.
Eddie stops in his tracks and deadpans. “Shut up,” he complains, earning a laugh from his boys. He starts to button up his suit jacket. “Tia has been setting all the dates up at high-class restaurants for some reason. I swear I need to eat into Christopher’s college fund to pay for them.” Then, when his son looks at him in surprise, he sighs. “I’m joking,” he promises.
Buck sits on the armrest of the couch and tilts his head as he eyes Eddie.
“What?” he demands, worried.
Buck shakes his head. “Nothing. Your tie is crooked.”
“What?!” Eddie runs to the mirror on the wall and tries to fix it, undoing it and redoing it twice, throwing the tail of the tie over his shoulder. When he’s done, he looks at Buck expectantly. “Well?”
He frowns, trying to refrain from smiling. “Here,” he offers, standing and positioning himself in front of Eddie. He’s taller than him, so he can see into Eddie’s nervous eyes as he helps him evenly loop his deep blue tie around his neck. Their eyes lock for a moment and he can feel the unease settling between them, breaths away. Buck takes a step back and gives him a once over, nodding. He puts his hand on Eddie’s shoulder, turning him toward his son. “What do we think, buddy? Better?”
“Looks great, Dad!” the boy answers gleefully as he returns his attention to the PlayStation as he sets it up himself.
Eddie looks at Buck gratefully. “Thank you,” he whispers.

Hi everyone, this is for a new WIP I'm writing - a 5+1 where Tia Pepa sets Eddie up on blind dates with women and the last date he agrees to go on ends up being Buck.
Winterhawk Wonderland: The Set-Up
Here is my (actually little for once) gift for the lovely @badgerandk for this year's Winterhawk Wonderland exchange!

“Y’know,” Steve starts, and Bucky’s jaw clenches instinctively. “Clint likes baseball. Or, at least, I think I saw him watching a game once. I mean, he was taking a nap in the lounge so I’m not sure if the game was on accidentally, but he didn’t change the channel when he woke up. Maybe you should ask him if he wants to catch a game some time? I mean, it’s not Ebbet’s Field, but Citi isn’t so bad, even if it is Queens…”
Bucky leans back on the couch, turns up the volume on the game, and tries his hardest to tune Steve out.
