On Lens's, Part 3
So, I'm going to bring up some things from the past that I think are needed to bring perspective. Because, lens's.
I was able to see the tattoo girl situation with JK the way I did, as a guy and a girl having a friendship that was twisted for nefarious reasons because heteronormativity is a disease (and as a lesbian I imagined all the rumors that could be spread over me hugging, cuddling, going out with my own guy friends). I was able to take the apartment girl situation as I did, as it may have been JK and his apartment but all he did was hug a girl again, and heteronormativity is a disease, and if thats the worst a sasaeng has after taking secret videos inside a house then the chances they were dating or even hooking up are just very very low to me.
And now, i'm able to take this situation the way I am because I know the history of SD, I know the timeframe that video seems to be from and that a woman with a history of lying leaking a video of surprising someone in an elevator 5 years ago, or posting the voice of someone talking to their dog, to prove they are currently dating is not convincing to me. And heteronormativity is a disease. Now could Jungkook and that tattoo girl have been casually dating? It's always possible, but its not what I really believe and not just because I think he has something with Jimin. Could that really be Jungkook and the apartment girl hooking up in that terrible leaked video? Possibly, again, but I don't really believe it and not just because I have stake in believing at that time Jikook had feelings for each other. And is it possible SD and Jimin were in a relationship? Maybe. But I don't really think so, and definitely not a serious or long one as tkkrs and anti's are still trying to get people to believe by posting disgusting rumors and AI pictures. And even if they were, its not like it changes what I believe is going on with Jimin and Jungkook. Because queer people can love and have feelings for each other and not date for many less complicated reasons than they're part of the biggest band in the world and live in a homophobic country, and thats important to acknowledge. Because it keeps your lens clear to rely on what you know to be true and what you see. One last thing: BH came out and refuted the dating rumors of Jungkook with tattoo girl, but it was a joint statement with tattoo girls shop as well. It was mutual and so it was easier to outright deny. Jungkook himself said on SH that he didn't have a girlfriend after the apartment leak (and to my knowledge BH never made a statement even if its a huge invasion of privacy, which also make me wonder if it was actually him? please clarify if i'm wrong here but thats just a small part of the pie). The Statement from BH this time was of course different because this wasn't just a rumor, this was a woman with a personal connection to Jimin from years ago (and maybe Jungkook but thats a separate conversation) who escalated after years to posting his face, who has threatened blackmail before and who is getting hundreds of dollars of subscriptions from tkkrs hoping she reveals more. Whether she was out for clout, or to tarnish Jimin's reputation, or simply because she was having a breakdown, BH had to step in with a legal statement not with her, but against her. With V's rumors, they stated a simple "we aren't involved in our idols personal lives" kind of thing again, in tandem with the other idols company. They couldn't do that here, and for logical reasons that have nothing to do with thinking jikook are together. So....that was long. But I needed to get it out, not for the anons i've seen creep into other blogs and accuse people of ignoring reality for their ship, and not for the people who somehow state they love and respect jikook but dropped them like a bag of hot potatoes or worse, turned around and painted Jimin as betraying Jungkook or as queer baiter (were ya'll secretly just tkkrs wearing a fake mustache all along?)- but to share my perspective and remind people how important queer voices are in these spaces, and how the respect you hold for Jimin and Jungkook as individuals is key to viewing them as Jikook. I look at what I know about jikook living together at the time, to SDs history, to the relevance of someone claiming to be in a long term relationship with someone and all they have to prove it is coincidences, fabrications and an elevator video. I look at the time frame, of the songs Jimin wrote in FACE and how he described being betrayed by friends during a very dark time in the beginning of the pandemic. I look at things as I always have, as a queer woman who is less likely to default to heteronormativity and who knows not everything with queer relationships or identities is black and white.
