good gods transformers girls designs are just kind of. sad sometimes. I love love me a pretty lady but just scrolling through some of the mainstream character just nets > slim shapely woman > slim shapely woman > slim shapely woman one after another. Chromia, who's usually characterized as a tough bodyguard? Slim waisted woman. Windblade, famously a jetformer? Slim waisted woman with wings slapped on the back. Megaempress, made from Megatron's spare parts and turns into a bigass fire truck thing? Chunky, still a slim waisted woman. Elita-One, who (sometimes) runs the place when Optimus isn't around? Slim waisted woman.
Gang I absolutely 110% adore Arcee Magnus's design and what Skybound did with her, I love that they gave her more chunky armor and promoted her, but she still is a slim waisted woman under all the kibble. Like nowhere near as chunky as Ultra Magnus, which makes me a little bit sad.
I do absolutely love all the girls as-is (I will never not find/draw Flamewar sexy) but I do really wish there was more actual variety (mostly in canon designs). More girls who actually look built like the jobs they perform in-universe, more girls who look like they transform into something rather than having a breastplate and some wheels slapped on the legs/back. More Strikas and Pyra Magnas in the franchise PLEASE, especially in the more war-centric stories. IDW2 did it fantastically for one.
I know there's girls who break the 'slim lady' mold but there is simply not enough, not in comparison to the guys. So I say- more beefy ladies!!!
