The Unmaker by J Edward Neill
I giggle and kick my feet everytime I see him.
Marvel Dark Ages
What the !@#$ is this?!
It's not full-power because I was too lazy to get all the runes
Rovagug, The Rough Beast, The Great Destroyer, Enemy of the Gods, The Unmaker, The Worldbreaker. all titles of Pathfinder's Chaotic Evil deity of wrath, disaster, and destruction.
basically just his front end; he was tricky to say the least.
one of the first beings in this iteration of reality, Rovagug, as the mightiest of qlippoth lords, gnawed his way from the Abyss into the Material Plane after Asmodeus murdered his brother Ihys and devoured the world where it took place.
after destroying countless worlds after, Sarenrae led a collection of gods (many now dead and forgotten) to battle and eventually imprison Rovagug within Golarion's core in a god-made demi-plane known as the Dead Vault.
even while he slumbers and his cage weakens, he has released a dozen of his spawn, including the infamous herald the Tarrasque.
he is not a good boy.
why did my short & fluffy hurt/comfort pynch fic appear in the tags when it was a video post, but not now that i’ve reformatted it as a text post: an essay seeking a conclusion by me
talking about Maker’s Game (my DA maincanon) on Discord with friends and like
I really feel how much my love of reformation is influencing what I’m doing with this headcanon, how my frustration with Christianity is similar to my frustration with the Chantry and how underneath the frustration is an abiding love for the source material and the inherent mysticism that organised religion has demonised
the Chantry is a political juggernaut and politics and religion have never got along (science vs religion is a false conflict, science and religion are dance partners, it’s politics that is most often the downfall of a religion), but there are still mystics, there are still people that hear the actual voice of the Maker on the quietest breeze, there are still people who do the Maker’s work in their every waking moment, whether they realise it or not
and the Maker’s work is all-encompassing, it includes the spirits of the Fade, it includes Hakkon and the Lady and Sigfrost, it includes the Evanuris and gods know it includes Fen’harel. It includes the Qun in its every permutation, the Vashoth and the Tal-Vashoth, the Stone and the Titans, and even Dumat and friends.
“why did the Maker let this happen?” because it must. because the worst part of being the Maker is knowing that your children are suffering the consequences of things that have already been set into motion. even a moment’s suffering is too much to witness, but it is how the song goes, and the moment the Maker steps out of the song to alleviate one child’s suffering is the moment the song ends, and all things fall out of place.
(I like to think that maybe the Maker overplayed its hand, and that’s why Thedas is falling out of place now. maybe it’s the Unmaker’s turn now.)
Just in case you weren't entirely sure the gun made from demon bones and powered by Demon Artifacts was genuinely demonic, someone has gone to the trouble of etching a crude pentagram into it.
