Such small birds in our region and specially in seemanchal and bengal we call bulbul in common. It is a passerine bird in the old World flycatcher family Muscicapidae. It is found in South Aisa, South East Asia and China. Male are Slate Blue in colour with a rusty red colored tail. while females differs they are in grey color. These birds don't like the entry of others in their space. It catches flies or flying insects over the flowing water/stream. I could see him going higher and then coming down to flies over the flowing water. This bird is mostly found at higher altitute of Himalayas. I guess it was winter, So i was lucky to see it, because it is when when they come to lower altitudes. So next time, when you visit a rocky river, do remember noticing this bird; though during summer or many times we may not find in many rocky rivers or streams. . . #maleplumbeouswaterredstart #maleredstart #redstart #plumbeous #flycatcher #passerinebird #passerine #muscicapidae #waterredstart #indianbirds #asianbirds #smallbirds #birdwatching #birdsofindia #himalayanbirds #phoenicurus #fuliginosus #phoenicurusfuliginosus #foothillsofthehimalayas #rockyrivers #balasonriver #birdsofseemanchal #darjeeling #humansofseemanchal #seemanchalwildlife #savebirds #savewildlife #bengaltourism #bihartourism #the_wandering_mole (at Balason River Bank)
