Found this pair of cuties in the driveway while taking out the recycle this evening, any idea on species? In the Portland, OR area if that helps
(The left one is currently circling my elbow, the right one finally came out of their shell and is exploring my wrist - I’ll put them back in the flower bed near where I found them once I submit this ask)
Oh, what little angels...
Diagnosis: Cornu aspersum Common name: Garden Snail Notes: Looks like a morph with less prominent patterns.

ridiculous baby garden snail (Cornu aspersum) on a thoroughly fucked up leaf. even though these things are one of the most recognizable animals in the world, finding a juvenile always confuses me because they look so single-celled

what is snail anatomy?
Jeremy the 'lefty' snail sitting with Theresa the 'righty' snail. Jeremy is a sinistral, or left-coiled snail, meaning his organs are reversed. He can only mate with other sinistrals. He found a left-coiled mate, with the help of Nottingham University, called Tomeau!!! His children are dextral (right-coiled) but scientists think that the gene lives on through the mother, so their children may be sinistral, or their childrens children. (yes, they are named after Jeremy Corbyn of the Left wing party in Britian.) credits to the university of nottingham and everybody involved with this project! read more about jeremy and his friends:
