Day 2 of the 365 challenge. I've been Xmas cleaning all day (Santa likes a clean house) limiting my photography time. I wanted to explore the capacity of my phone so got some markers as the texture of the nibs is wonderful. Put the phone in super macro and switched the flash on. I set it against a cream notebook as it works with the theme as well as being very clean. I quite like how they came out and the phone really picked up the texture. Did a bit of fettling in snapseed. Quite happy with day 2. Day 1 of 365 challenge. 1st two photos are of a tree bauble that I gave my nan a long time ago. When she passed away I got it back so she would be with our family at Xmas. The light wasn't great so rather than use flash I went ott on the creative effects just for fun. The first is a kind of faded glow but for the 2nd I went for an all out Lomo look with major light leakage. It's making the most of what I had whilst tapping into the fact I REALLY want to play with a Holga eventually. I love lomo. As for the 2nd 3 more effects. What do you think it is? I've signed up to a site called 365project. To encourage myself to think about my photography the plan is starting from today I am going to take at least one photo every day for a year. I'm going to extend it to the end of 2020 and create a dedicated album just for 2020 on the website and my fb page but I'm itching to start so it will end up being 372project 😂. I'm hoping it will encourage me to work on my technique and learn new ones as well as find new perspectives and things to photograph as I'm allowing myself to use my phone as the camera on it is impressive in itself but I won't be including random opportunistic 'snaps' of the kids or the dog being goofballs but make myself pick something out to take photos of with deliberate thought so if it is my dog I'm trying to make the best photo I can. Must be nearly time for the fat man to visit. This cheeky Robin sat and eyeballed me for ages as I papped him. I love the cock, brazen little buggers. The blue tits around here are proving a proper arse to photograph. Literally since these are the only shots I have of their face. And this feline fella was enjoying a bask watching the flying mcnuggets in case one got within reach. The things you do for some macro photography. Taking photos of my eyes with a flash balanced on a lens hood, my Sony held backwards using my phone to check my positioning. Should get my table top tripod sorted out. Few good shots considering the jury rigged way of doing it though. Had to turn up clarity and texture in Lightroom to really bring out the texture of the iris. Finding this particular subject fascinating. Pretty pleased with these macro shots especially my daughter's eye. Shot with my Sony Alpha 7ii and a Sigma 105mm macro lens on an MC11 converter with a flash gun who's settings I cannot fathom but seemed to do the job. Stacked extension tubes at 13mm, 21mm and 33mm for the mechanical pencil. Not easy to focus as it made for very shallow DOF so the regular pencils didn't come out well. One to repeat in daylight or in my light box methinks. Black and white eye shot taken by my 10yo.
