QUESTIONED I ANSWERED: 1) Do you read comics? If so, are you DC, Marvel or both? Why?

Yes.  I read Marvel mostly with a handful of DCs but I haven't been keeping up on anything lately :(

2) Favorite kind of ice cream?

3) Have you ever avoided a TV show or movie because the hype surrounding it was overbearing?

Frequently lol...

4) If you said yes to 3, have you ever caved and watched the show/movie, only to realize that you do, in fact, like it? (If you said no, what’s the last new show/movie you watched and absolutely hated?)

Only after the hype has died down.  If people are shoving it in my face constantly, that has to stop before I can sit down and enjoy it and a lot of the time, I have enjoyed them.

5) Obscure fandom: everybody has one, what’s yours?

It's so obscure I can't even think of it lololol um... Oh, I thought of one, though I know I have others.  Brisco County Jr!  \o/  I loved this show when I was a kid.

6) Favorite book that you could read over and over again until the spine becomes broken and the pages are worn down? Why?

Erg.  Um.  I don't know that I really have a favorite book.  I had to read so much for school and some of them I enjoyed.  Great Gatsby was really good and a lot of the Old English and Middle English lit that I read.  I loved everything Chaucer.  As for pleasure reading, I just sort of haven't lately so I've read through Lord of the Rings and I loved it, but I don't think I'd do it again.  I could give you a favorite or favorite movie(s), but apparently not favorite books :/

7) E-books or printed?

Either.

8) Are you a gadget fiend? Apple, Windows or Android?

9) Do you consider yourself a creative person? If so, what do you create?

I create feels.

10) Favorite junk food?

That's a really good one.  I'd stay, unless my crush was secretly an asshole and then I'd be rescued and they can be all dark and handsome on the island by themselves...

October is Anti-Bullying Month

This is in response to my dear friend's post.

I was never threatened with violence (aside from some little punk kid who thought he could push me around.  I hit him in the knees with my saxophone case and he never messed with me again).  But I was teased and taunted from elementary school through high school.  In fact, it wasn't until college that I really came to terms with who I am.

I'm a tom-boy.  I wear men's clothes, I never have my hair down and if I had my way, I'd shave it all off because I hate it.  I actually did have my hair short up until high school, but I had to make sure it wasn't something that was too "butch" (my mother's words).  So the first time I really remember being taunted about it was in second grade.  It was my neighbor who was supposedly my friend, and she asked me if I was going to get a sex change.  It wasn't an oh interesting, you're different from me but I like it.  It was a what the fuck is wrong with you.

I mean, what kind of a weapon is that to use against a second grader?  I didn't even know what it was which of course they told me.  I was yelled at when I went into the girls' bathroom that I didn't belong that so I would hold it in all day.  In junior high, which was the worst of it, there was a guy who would hang outside the school and follow me down the street when I had to walk to meet my mom at her work, calling me a girl-boy and an "it".  It happened repeatedly and there wasn't anyone I could tell because it was after school, not on school property and all my parents would really say is to suck it up.

I could ignore him for awhile but being called "it" can only roll off a few times before it really stings.  No one ever asked if I was a boy or a girl for information reasons, it was always mocking.  My only saving grace was that I had some good friends and if I didn't, I can't imagine how much worse it would have been because it was already bad.

There were other things I was mocked for.  Being nerdy, being unpopular, but that wasn't nearly as heavy as being called "it" and hearing that mocking tone "are you a boy or a girl?"  Like I said, it wasn't until college that I really understood and other people understood that I'm more than my appearance.  My experience wasn't as bad as some, but it was pretty prolonged and even if it was just composed of words, I'm 26 now and things that happened when I was 8 are still there.
