On the eve of 9/11, I'm not going to share where I was and what I was doing when I heard what happened. I remember so many minutes of that day, but so does everyone else who was alive and of a certain age then. I'm not going to repost what folks are sharing on social media about the people who died and how they went to bed the night before preparing for the next day. I don't need to because you've got it covered. I will try to share what's in my heart. After listening to our former Dean Eric Schwartz, President of Refugees International, talk with our students yet again (he is so giving of his time and passionate not only about what he does but about what our students and alumni do) talk about the MILLIONS of refugees in the world and other humans who have dealt with and are dealing with extreme fear, terror, and violence every day, I don't fully know what to say. Yes, in my life, I can do better at exemplifying and sharing peace, love, joy, and kindness. But that is nowhere near enough. My only comfort and the only thing I can do is rededicate my efforts every single day to help our amazing students make a difference in the world. Because they do and they will continue to do so, no matter what.
