“H-hey, Xion.” Riku reached out but quickly retracted hishand as she turned around, “Could I actually talk to you for a bit?”

She blinked in surprise, but answered, “Sure, Riku.” Sheturned around to give a small wave to Roxas and Axel, “I’ll catch up with youguys later.”

Roxas gave a bit of a suspicious look but gave a small nod, “Kay.”

“See ya.” Axel shrugged and continued walking, ushering theblonde forward as well.

Giving a small smile at their reactions, she turned back toRiku and tilted her head as she sat down across from him, “So what’s up?”

“I just… wanted to apologize for everything that happened.Before.” He struggled to get the words out, his eyes falling towards his lap.

Xion stared for a moment before understanding washed overher, “Oh.” She waved her hands, “You don’t have to. Really. I mean, you werejust trying to save Sora. And it was a hard decision to make, but I knew it wasthe right thing to do, too.”

“I didn’t really treat you like your own person, though. Ithink that’s what I regret the most.”

She noticed his fists tighten and she gave a small smile, “Fromwhat I heard, not even Sora treated nobodies and replicas well at first. And ifSora, the nicest person in all the worlds, didn’t know how to act around us,then how were you supposed to know?”

Riku looked up in surprise before giving a laugh, “I guessyou’re right about that.”

“We didn’t treat ourselves kindly, either, to be honest. Theorganization told us a bunch of lies in order to make us easier to control.”Xion shook her head, “So, again… don’t be too hard on yourself.”

“I know, but still. Can we start over?” He gave her sort ofa pleading look.

“Start over?” She repeated questioningly.

“You know, like…” He stood up and offered his hand, “Hi,nice to meet you. I’m Riku.”

Xion stood up as well and took his hand, “I’m Xion. And… I’mconfused.”

Riku flushed deeply, “Ah, nevermind.” He slipped his handout of hers and sheepishly mumbled as he walked past, “I’ll see you later,okay?”

“Okay?” Her eyes followed him as he walked out, still unsureof what just happened.

As she met back up with her friends, Roxas immediatelyasked, “So what was all that about?”

“I actually really don’t know.” Xion burst out laughing,causing Roxas and Axel to look at each other.

Axel leaned in towards her curiously, “So then what’s sofunny?”

“Riku’s just…” She wiped her eyes, continuing to laugh, “Areally sincere person.”

“…I don’t get it.” Roxas commented and Axel once again shrugged.

“You got me, I have no idea.”
