Wait. They PURGED THAT TAG? WHY? People need that tag! Whose bright idea was it to clear out an entire tag for people with pain that is chronic?

It happened back when they were trying to “get rid of the bots”, but instead of actually doing anything useful about the bots they just implemented changes that hurt the userbase. We never got any solid answer to why the chronic pain tag was purged. Some people speculated it was because it shared the same lettering as c/hild p/*rn but I never once tagged any of my stuff as cp, only ever the full #chr/onic p/ain. Another theory went around that it was because it was encouraging drug use because people talked about their medications.

All I know is that tumblr’s chronic illness and disability community was one of the most active on a mainstream website and was amazingly a lot less toxic than places like Facebook, and a lot of our resources went kaput.

I managed to save a lot of my stuff through archiving regularly for my own sake, and I’m composing an offsite archive, but yeah. Tumblr *jazz hands of despair*

I think after Kylo killed Han a whole fandom just decided to hate him, because they thought he ruined their childhood fave series or something. I remember the drama around TFA and I think it drove at least one of my friends off of tumblr. They considered him irredeemable and they liked Fin, so they wanted Rey to be with the "good one" ™.

oh I absolutely remember the TFA drama too because that was when I realized that if I wanted to keep my sanity I should not fuck with sw fandom as a whole, but like... I mean, for the record han is my fave sw character in existence and I didn’t mind that because I figured it was obvious harrison ford had wanted it to happen for years but like my sequel trilogy fave is poe and generally in tfa/tlj I cared way more for finn than kylo ren - like, I’m a lightsider. I want lightside content XD but like...... tlj made it obvious that kylo killing han wasn’t something the narrative couldn’t redeem him from and now that it was spelled with neon lights in tros I just wish people let that grudge go and moved on. like. also, finn and rey were never written to be romantically together and I think it’s pretty damn obvious, and if people don’t get that redemption is a thing in these series as much as disney suddenly decided it’s not anymore whatever, but.... let it go. it was made obvious in tlj. if I ever had issues with kylo concerning han I buried them when he destroyed the helmet. and I’m saying it as someone who loves han more than anyone else in these movies like... please. there’s a limit to how much you can deny textual evidence.

I have both the events of the special and Gine from Minus as canon for my fanfic, but I concede the special isn't technically canon for the actual work and that doesn't stop me from making it so in my story. I kinda fell in love with Bardok's crew so I'm keeping them.

You can love the special all you like. Something not being canonical doesn’t mean you’re not allowed to enjoy it by any means. I myself enjoy a good bit of stuff that’s not canonical.

Although, technically Bardock’s crew actually do appear in the Broly movie.

And there’s really nothing saying they’re not members of his crew anymore either. Just that there are more members of it (including now Leek and Taro and, once upon a time, Gine). So really, they’re technically canon-compliant too, even if the events of the special are not.

Just saw the latest Dragon Dad post and I don't know whether this was explained somewhere I couldn't find, but what's the precise logic behind Seto being his canon age and Mokuba being very young? It's an adorable dynamic and you write very well so I really love it, but HOW.

To be honest with you, I don’t know if I had any specific logic in mind when I started this AU. Like, there’s nothing in canon that justifies it. That said, whenever I write about the Kaibas, there’s usually a wider age gap between them.

I’m pretty sure canon dictates that Seto is 5 years older than Mokuba?

But when I write the Kaibas, Seto is usually somewhere between 8 and 9 years older. Based on my … admittedly biased … understanding of children and their development, it just made more sense to me when I started way back in the days of yore. And it just became habit over the years.

Dragon Dad was just an idea that occurred to @thejanestofdoes (Daisy, specifically) one day, which was then passed on to me. We wondered how much the dynamic between them would change if the age gap were even more pronounced.

I’ve always seen the relationship between Seto and Mokuba as being parent-child. They aren’t “brothers” in a traditional sense. “Niisama” means “Dad.” Seto is his brother’s legal guardian. He’s in charge of him. It’s his literal job to take care of the kid.

But in canon, it’s not really acknowledged very often, if at all, how much work that must be. How it must change Seto’s priorities and how it must influence his behavior. 

Dragon Dad is my way of … shining a light on that.

If Mokuba were a precocious toddler, instead of a Very Competent Anime Tween™, Seto’s job as his caretaker would be that much more obvious. And everyone — from Yugi to Joey to me and you — would be able, or even forced, to see it clearly.

Kohaku: I have to be meaner. Usually it’s thugs beating them up. Not each other. Not like this.

Trix: I believe in you. You’ve been meaner to them in other projects—I know you have it in you.

So you may have noticed that your post about the curse passing from Beast to Gaston is making rounds again. And I saw it about a week and a half ago, and I had an idea hit me out of left field and am in the process of writing it. It's based on the fairy tale "Snow-White and Rose-Red", with splashes of other stories for flavour, and your post was a large influence on it.

Also, another headcanon. I'm not sure if 17 and 18 can sleep, and whether or not they dream if they can, but if they did they'd probably have horrible recurring nightmares about being absorbed by Cell. I would if I was them. They'd probably try to sleep as infrequently as possible.

I think they can sleep, and might even need it in limited quantities since they are mostly still organic beings. So I like to think they do but only for a few hours at a time maybe? Or once in so many days/weeks.

As for nightmares, I’m pretty sure those are present. They might or might not remember much of their past,  but I think the time in the lab and being experimented on has not been erased. I think this because of Eighteen literally saying she and her brother were experimented on against their will when Semiperfect!Cell tried to trick her with Seventeen’s voice.

Luckily for both of them, they have loving spouses who can get them through their distress whenever a nightmare hits!

I am so scared for everyone with severe illnesses who aren't getting treated because of this, and I'm particularly worried for you because I've been following you for a while and I don't want you to die. I wish I could help but I'm poor and Australian and our dollar is really weak right now. :(

Aw fam, please don’t worry about me. I am doing all I can to keep myself safe, as is ETD. We’re lucky in that his work is allowing him to work from home despite classing him as essential, so while my Patreon might be taking a hit from everyone else losing their jobs, I am very lucky to have someone else who is able to provide for us. Incredibly lucky.

We’ll get by. And things will get better. And that is a threat as much as it is a promise.
