I think an interesting argument found in the Irregulars is how trauma lies at the base of certain characteristics. Billy isn’t angry because he’s poor. He’s angry because his poverty (in a capitalistic system) led to him enduring trauma and engraining that him not having money represented a lack of worth. 

Spike didn’t endure the same specific trauma so while he’s suffered from poverty he hasn’t endured the trauma of the workhouse and hasn’t internalized this same insecurity

i just finished season 1 of the Irregulars and number 1: i am do dehydrated to cry the way i did at that ending and throughout the last episode and 2:I want to show off three of my favourite shots in the show that make my media brain go BRRRR,the set design in this show as well as the constuming is truly immaculate (over all the show is perfect in my mind). In these 3 scenes (A:Watson and B at the end of the final episode,B:Watson and Bea clash about sherlock,C:the collector denies the death of her husband) you can look at the screenshots and feel the energy radiating from them,the damp air of the garden house,the stubborness of the collector,the tension in the air between Watson and Bea that not even a butter knife could get through and the sorrow of the final scene,two lost souls prepared to help each other heal,the protectiveness of Watson towards Bea after all thats happened,all they’ve been through.

just glorious,absolutely maginificent.
