Australia Zoo

We managed to find a campsite only 16km away from the zoo. This trip had been my most anticipated excursion having watched Steve Irwin since I was 4 years old. For 18 years I have waited and dreamed of the day I would visit his zoo. 

Tickets were purchased and we were on our way!

The day was spend ambling around the zoo, seeing crocodiles, such as Aggro that I had only watched on TV! I have a special soft spot for Aggro, because he was so aggressive, and the fact that Stevo showed no fear, just adoration for him made me all the more excited to meet the fella! He definitely lived up to expectations, I would not want to be on the wrong side of him! To top it off, while walking around I saw my first wild snake (finally!). We were walking straight towards it, and Reece nearly stood on it. There was not much time to ID, all I saw was a snake and poor Reece was shoved out of the way! I think it was a common tree snake, so it would not have done any damage to Reece, but he was close to doing damage to the snake. Everyone came out fine though. There were also hundred of Eastern water lizards running around!

So filled with awe at all of the animals we had seen, as well as the koala we had cuddled (sorry mum, I think that’s the closest to grandkids you’re going to get), I didn’t think the day could get any better until...

These 2 walked past me. I hate to admit it, but I was a little starstruck. The ability to form coherent sentences was lost, and they listened to me babble thank yous, took a photo with me, and were as lovely as they appear to be from all the years I have watched the Crocodile Hunter. So, if on the offhand Terri and Bob ever read this, thank you for listening to my babbling, and stuttering without complaint, as well as taking the time to take a photo when you needed to be elsewhere and must have been hounded walking through the zoo! I feel very lucky, and once again inspired to find my place in the animal industry.

(I made it because bANDS) 4) Favourite ‘youtuber’?: Danisnotonfire and Amazingphile 5) How old are you?: 13.
