Questions about the writing process.

♕ - What are 5 writing tips you’d give to beginners? 

✕ - What would set you entirely off roleplaying with someone? 

Aaaah those are good questions! Especially the first one, since I helped newbies on forums (I’m a newbie myself here so I won’t help anyone, even though if I’m trying hard to get my french partner to come here already xD). So.♕ - First: know your muse. It may seem silly but since there’s no bios on independent blogs (I mean you don’t have to do one) be sure you know your muse before you start writing. You’ll never know your muse completely, not in the beginning. Your muse is a person, even if it’s a fictional person. you have to get to know him/her. / Second: write down every idea you have about them, even the slightless, do a word file or something. If they have parents and you know them: write something about them too. If they have siblings, cousins, ennemies, anything! Because credibility is important and you can’t say something like, for instance “they have 3 brothers” and then “they only have a sister”, because then we’ll wonder what happened to the brothers, you see? Everything has to be linked together. / Third: listen to scores and soundtracks, music have stories inside them. You can try to listen to a song and write something, the first thing that comes through your mind, it’s a good writing exercice I think. I love doind this tbh! / Fourth: do try to go too big at first. Try with little life events. Try to understand the human mind through you’re writing, try to understand how it works, why we betray, why we love, why we get angry, because humans are not just black or white, inside. It’s way more complicated. And you don’t have to be a psychologist to understand. / Five: Describe. Describe. Describe. How the hell are we supposed to know what is happening, where it is happening, why it is happening and so on. Everytime a W question change, speak about it. What/Where/Who/When/How. And most of all: feelings! What does you muse feels right now? I want to know, we all want to know!✕ - I’m not quite sure I got that one, so maybe I’ll answer totally… A côté de la plaque as we say in french xD. I’m sorry If I did’t get it, though. But if that’s it means, well… I don’t like it when the roleplayer don’t speak to me. It’s really weird. I think that’s because we do speak a lot with each others on forums and french roleplay (we speak more than me rp tbh xD) so when I came here I thought it was weird xD. But if you just do that it’s okay, you’ll just never become my favorite partner xD But if you dare to come speak to me only to tell me “girl you haven’t responded yet, what are you waiting for?” then I swear I’ll NEVER answer. Because no, come and talk damnit, that’s not hard xD. This is not the worst though. To me the worst is when you just assume my character is like that or that. You put him in a situation without asking me first or having my consent. For instance, if we haven’t discussed it before, Stiles is not a fucking cheater. (yeah I got mad about that a week or so ago). No god moding, in a word. That’s the worst.Oh this is a fucking novel xD Sorry!

The sweat was dripping down Teresa’s back, her shirt clung to her skin as she crept over the broken sticks and orange leaves. It was October, yet it was the warmest Autumn she could ever remember. 

She’d lived in Atlanta, Georgia since she was a child, when it had been a booming metropolis and not this hell.  Her mother had worked in one of the buildings downtown and one day she never made it home from work. Teresa and her father had holed up in their apartment for weeks scavenging one apartment and then the next until the food and water ran out.

Teresa sucked in a sharp breath and stopped frozen at the sound of leaves crunching somewhere ahead of her. She had been heading in the direction of a large metal track, it had once been the framework of a roller coaster she had ridden a few short years ago. She recognized it off I-20 but she knew better than to walk too closely to the road. Roads didn’t offer enough shelter and they offered a lot of traffic, both living and the undead.She didn’t trust anyone anymore. She didn’t want a companion.They’d simply be another person to worry about; another person to care about, she thought to herself , though she tried to pretend that she didn’t. Caring only makes you weak, vulnerable… stupid even.

After it was the living that had killed her dad, she wanted nothing to do with anyone. If she died, she died on her own terms, by her own mistakes. She refused to let her well-being be a burden on another person’s conscience, she refused to let anyone else die because of her.

Teresa crept forward slowly, still unable to make out the source of the noise she had heard only moments before. She couldn’t see any walkers or any living but as she paced closer she could see the aluminum posts of a gate. As she got closer she realized that it loomed high, higher than she ever remembered. There would be no going over it, she would have to follow it around.

She traced her fingers over the metal fencing as she walked, one hand poised on the knife at her hip until she saw them. People, living people in the distance, on the inside.

Teresa was torn between pushing forward and turning back. Her instincts told her to get away, run, but her stomach ached and she hadn’t slept in days. She backed away from the fence, taking cover in the shade of the trees so she could watch the people without being seen. Eventually, as the sky began darkening, she found herself creeping toward the fence. She hoped it was safer in there with them, than it was out here with the walkers.
