Because now all I can imagine is Aziraphale at a table with books spread all over because he’s INTO whatever he’s researching/reading, and he’s got his wings open, partially mantled without thinking about it (books MINE), and Crowley standing or sitting on the floor behind him, fingers coated in preen oil, fixing the worst of Aziraphale’s messy feathers while making vacant noises to assure him he’s still listening as Aziraphale explains to him the things he is putting together, or reads him poetry or a good story or whatever, idk, whatever gets Aziraphale really distracted that Crowley wouldn’t mind listening to for hours. There’s probably a Queen song playing softly in the background. Their hot cocoa has gone cold. It doesn’t matter.

Have you considered wrapping the HVAC pipes in one of those bristly welcome mats? I knew a guy who turned one into a cover for the arm of his couch because of his cat loving to scratch it.

I’m a little concerned about over-insulating it, but that’s a GREAT idea for certain other areas they scratch up (Polk likes to sit on top of my bedroom closet doors and sharpen her claws on them, and I’m worried both about her getting splinters and about her eventually taking the door right off its top hinge). Thanks for the suggestion!

Your thoughts on the Swiss German accent remind me of how everyone tends to react to me when I get frustrated or whatever. My American Southern starts showing, and people are like “you sound so sweet and cute when you’re mad!” And I’m just like “I would happily light you on fire right now.”

my perception might be tainted because I seem to mostly hear Swiss from cheerful women. I’ve got plenty of experience with “cute” dialects being spoken angrily, like my high school maths teacher...

I mean. Considering the food industry, the specific oil/fat is probably just partially hydrogenated vegetable oil.

The ingredients list says soybean and palm, so six of one, half dozen of the other I suppose, but it’s pre-melted into the bread in a way that I’ve found difficult to duplicate. I should watch a How It’s Made or ask Bon Appetite to help or something. :D

A) Sometimes you just want garbage food! and B) NEVER HAS A COMMENT BEEN MORE ON BRAND FOR A USERNAME

Also I had no idea how many people loved shitty freezer garlic bread. Truly I am among my own kind.

I'm so keen for the Tamam Shud story to be solved one day. It's got everything - the Cold War links, the missing labels on the clothes, the mystery numbers and texts in the book, the state of his shoes, all the clues being found and tracked down and leading to nothing...

Not to mention one of the main investigators on it now married the granddaughter of the nurse they’re pretty sure was involved with the dead man!

Just because I know you like trivia and language: the word "Mayan" refers only to the language that the Maya speak. It's a really common error. (Is there a word for something that is said incorrectly more often than it's said correctly?) Anyway, there's your fun fact for the day. ;)

I had no idea! Thanks for the info. I couldn’t find a term for a word used incorrectly more than correctly, but I would like to suggest mallitera which has the added bonus of sounding like one of the most wrongly used words in English, “Literally” :D

I meant he was a spy for the United States. The US was...very horrifically involved in politics in that general area at the time. So my thought was that he got 'disappeared' and everyone in both governments was just kind of...."who?"

OHHHHH an American spy IN GUATEMALA. Yes, that makes loads of sense!

lollll so, our thermostat sits in just such a location that during the winter months, the sun slants through one of the windows just-so for an hour or so, shining directly onto the thermostat, and plunging our house into sub-arctic temperatures unless we cover it up with something else. So, my brilliant engineer of a partner decided our device of choice to correct this problem is “piece of paper towel duct taped to the wall”

Have they shown an interest in ice cubes? The ice slides all over the floor in a way my family cats adore, so all of our monsters know the sound of the fridge door ice dispenser.

No, they don’t tend to like cold stuff -- they won’t even eat cold wet food. I’ve tried ice cubes both in bowls and on the floor, but they just sniff them and wander off.

I'm an Original Issue Emo Kid (graduated in '07, blue hair and all) so I love Fall Out Boy, and I loved that album, but yeah...that Big Sean verse made no damn sense in relation to the song and was kind of gross too. "Just One Yesterday" is still my fav off that album.

Yeah, that was my sense of it -- “This is....weird to put in this song, and kind of gross,” so I edited it. :D 

It was so funny, I emailed my bandom friends all “Hey the new FOB album is great, I liked two and a half songs on it!” which is WAY above my average for any given album of any genre. And they were like “Two and....a half?” and I said “The Mighty Fall” and they were all “Ohhhhhhhh yeah gotcha.”
