my personal take on elriel vs gwynriel vs elucien is that lucien needs time to process the mess that happened to his life, elain needs time to process the mess that happened in her life, azriel needs time to process himself, and gwyn needs time to process her new life. she literally didn't leave the library for TWO years then was straight up kidnapped. i don't think any of them need to jump into anything before they work out what they want for themselves first, purely because it's not healthy. azriel has had a traumatic ass life, lost his best friend for fifty years, then got shoved into a war. elain went through the fucking cauldron and probably other stuff too that we don't know about because we haven't had her perspective. i feel like I don't even need to say anything about lucien, so let's go with one word: Beron.

i'm pro make-these-traumatized-kids-heal-first before shoving them into a romantic mess that inevitably hurts others
