This book and its sequel The Smart Money Tribe has been one of the most phenomenal books I have read. Not only does it empower the African woman even financially, it also empowers the African man. There are some male characters worth taking note of: 1. Tsola: He is the goal-oriented man. The type of man the entitled female will detest. He knows what he wants and how to get it. Tsola as a boyfriend will rather buy assets and stocks for you instead of wigs and the latest bags. When he said, 'I don't date broke girls.' I felt it. A relationship with him means that you must be willing to grow. 2. Bode: The typical African man. Most African men fall into this mindset of substituting attention with money. 'As long as I can make enough money, then my wife can spend it the way she pleases.' In as much as this sounds romantic and most women's dreams, this can be detrimental in financial crisis because the husband has no grip of the expense. 3. Soji: Fake it and never make it. This character reminds me of Robert Gayle from Acrimony. Only that Robert eventually made it. Soji is worse off, spends and never earns. He is enabled by his wife who, in the process of tendering to his ego as a man, hands her financial life into his hands. This man is a womanizer, hangs out with expensive people and invest in businesses with no future. Do these men exist? Of course, they do. The silence of their wives encourage their behaviors and in the public, the woman acts like he is the bread winner to cover up. 4. Bobby: The get rich, get rich quick kind of man. He would get involved in any scheme to make money. These are the yahoo boys. I think most men, if not all men fall into one of these categories. It is time to assess yourself.
