The young woman frowned at the rank smell that was emanating from the sewer. Feeling the radiated water soak through her socks. She had been told there was some valuable vintage merch down here she could sell for a load of bottle caps. She wasn’t going to pass the opportunity up. The rank sewer water was a toxic shade of green and smelled like decade old rotting cheese. The bricks that made up portions of the walls were starting to crumble and give way from age and abuse. White splotches of mold here and there on said bricks. She had Detective Valentine with her, they had been travelling together for a good bit now. He wasn’t like any other Synth she had met. He seemed more like a person than a lot of people sometimes with how he acted and talked. Though she was sure right now he was thankful he didn’t have a proper sense of smell. She frowned hearing scuttling down below and held her arm out for her companion to stop. She held a finger to her lips, motioning for him to stay quite as she hunkered down and started to quietly move forward, keeping low. Seeing what was ahead only made her frown increase, she hated mirelurks. She could see nests and eggs. She really hoped none of them hatched. Mirelurks were nasty buggers with hard shells. A good few shotgun blasts to the face normally did the trick but they were fast when they wanted to be. She got the shotgun that was resting against her hip and slowly started stalking forward once more. Whatever was down here had better be worth it or she wasn’t going to be happy. The crackling noise of a plastic bottle being stepped on alerted the mirelurks to her location, she cursed under her breath. The scuttling only got louder as one of the closer mirelurks made a dash for her with those almost bug crab hybrid claws. She dodged backwards, not wanting to get sliced open by those and aimed her shot gun. She shot the creature point blank in the face three times before it went down and she had to reload. She was lucky the others were too far away to be alerted to them. Though she paused seeing the detective pick something up, what was that… a card? “What is that, a baseball card?” He picked up a baseball card right after the attack “Baseball cards, what are you five?” The detective pocketed the cards “You never know, it’s in mint condition after all. It might be just what that collector would go for. I’ve seen a bunch of base ball memorabilia of his back near his place in diamond city.” She sighed at that “Alright you have a point.” Frowning as she saw more mirelurks up ahead “Get ready there’s more of those things to take out.” Starting to slowly make her way forward again.
