No matter what the experience, how long it lasts, how it ends and what it was like going through it, there is something to be learned always. In the moments when you are walking away from someone you learn what kind of person they are better than any other time. Sometimes the person you see in them in those moments is enough to make solid answers for yourself. When I decided to live a life of true self I decided I was no longer going to be so full of self hate that I would stay with whoever would show me love no matter how hard they said it was to love me. I am not hard to love and there is a difference between being high maintenance and simply knowing what you want in a partner. I know what I want and I’m not longer willing to drag things out and settle for something that’s not right. We all play this game with love but love is not a game, if we stopped treating love like its a thing (an object) like we treat happiness like its a thing we would all be love and happy a lot more often than not.
God I love this book/journal. It’s wonderful. #zenasfuck🌸 #MonicaSweeney #TherapyHomework (at Taylorsville, Utah) https://www.instagram.com/p/BsL0MiHhOf3/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=i2l943u04s75
My homework from my therapist this week was to fill this box with index cards, one card per day. On the index cards, I am to write:
1.) Something positive about me
2a + b.) Two things I accomplished during the day - each day, one of those two things must be different than the day before
3.) When a negative thought comes, I write the thought then write the change that makes the thought positive.
The purpose of this homework is to help me build self esteem. If you want to work on building your self esteem, try this homework with me! Hope it helps someone.
Working through trauma stuff. Is my belief about the situation really true or is what I believe causing me the pain? #therapyhomework #corebeliefs #allthejournaling #thankyoutherapist
My brain while trying to purposely recall trauma. Trying not to lose it. My mind is trying to block it so I don't think about everything, except I'm supposed to for therapy homework. Reminding myself that this will actually help instead of hurt me. #traumarecovery #therapyhomework #therapy #idontlikethis #ijustwanttoforget #thissucks #thanksgenevieve
Doing therapy homework on your own at home, without your therapist's help is hard! 1/3 of my homework is almost done, though, so that's good. Just gotta figure out 2 more things to process through before Wednesday. #edrecovery #therapy #therapyhomework #itseemedmucheasierwhenshewashelpingme #therapyistough
