This city was said to be a den of sin and vice, a place for humans to gather together in hopes of pursuing whatever sinful desires their little hearts wanted. Yet, as Somnio walked the streets, he found nothing of interest in particular. Yes, whenever he bothered to travel into others’ dreams they happened to be more depraved than usual, but humans were so easy to please. Their dreams consisted of nothing but sex, money, and power, and, just like that, they were content. It was pitiful and it was boring.
Even now during their waking hours, Somnio could see that they thought of nothing more than whatever wins or pleasures they could get their hands on next. How rapidly his interest in humanity was draining. However, a glimpse of red hair then flashed in his vision, a feeling of something not quite human drifting across his senses. Somnio paused and turned, locking eyes with a woman. He hadn’t run across any non-humans since he’d taken over this body, and there was something about her that almost...frightened him. A look in her eyes that caused the hair at the back of his neck to stand. When was the last time he’d felt anything even remotely close to fear...? “You...” the demon’s eyes narrowed, voice low among the din of the crowd around them. “Who are you?”

@therealmofmuses Lionel “Shade” Deandreld III was displeased with royal affairs lately. Particularly, that they were centered around him getting married to a....a louse. His father, brokering peace with the neighboring kingdom, had come up with the idea. Shade was never asked once about it. And so a banquet was being held so the two could meet and make sure they were compatible--as if the nobles around them would accept anything else. The other kingdom’s party was late, however. Shade’s smile was wry. These disrespectful rats were the ones his father wanted to make a treaty with? Nobody else in the room seemed to mind, though, at least not that Shade could tell. Drinks were served ahead of time and the banquet’s guests were all busy getting drunk and joking around. He hated it, but had to respect it as a good idea. He’d be able to tolerate the other kingdom far better if he was out of his head. Shade quaffed his beverage and remained in his thoughts.

She came in a blink of light--stars falling around her as they disappeared into the ground at her feet. “Are you kidding me? I was kind of in the middle of something and--and...” Hands were thrown into the air, Luna spinning on the person as her face contorted into pure anger. She didn’t even have a chance to change out of her work clothes before being transported off to Moon knows where and she was half-dressed to top it all off. Spanx and a sports bra were hardly professional...
“Are... Did you summon me?” Great. “I haven’t been summoned in ages! Where did you even learn how?” A sigh rolled off her lips and she pulled at her gloves. “Well, I’m sure you know the rules then? Three wishes--that’s all.”
⧗ “Excuse me, madam...,” he said softly, his deep voice courteous and gently, hoping to not surprise her. “I noticed you leaving this affair early --- if you would like, I will walk you home. It is much too late in the evening to not offer a lady company on her departure.”

“Ouch!” The small girl withdrew her hand, cradling her hand in the other. Tears immediately welled up in her eyes like someone turned on a spigot and there was nothing to do that could stop it. If her eyes lids were dams, they were cracking under the pressure. Her tiny body sunk to the floor, staring at the searing pain in her hand like she had touched an oven top. She didn’t know what her hand went to in order to get that kind of reaction but it hurt! She ended up plopping down on her behind when she got close enough to the ground, letting the tears stream down her eyes, figuring that this would be better than going straight home to Silva with tears in her eyes, knowing that the bigger woman would probably take things the wrong way and prepare for a fight that Desa, herself, didn’t want to be a part of.

An excited child raced up to the stranger, stopped, and stared intensely. After a few seconds of near awkward silence, she grinned up at them and proudly proclaimed, “You feel weird! Why?”
“Callie!” A voice rang out and the young girl whirled around and ran, giggling, towards the approaching figure. Imani bent down to gently admonish the young girl before walking up to the stranger. “I’m sorry about that,” she gestured to the girl who was now smiling at the stranger from behind the older woman’s legs. “Sometimes Callie likes to speak before she thinks about it.”
