This book is going to be super tough to review. It doesn’t seem to make any sense at all when I’m sat here composing my own short synopsis but wow, I loved this book so very much. Like another favourite of mine by this author, Station Eleven, Emily St John Mandel takes some complex strands, knots them together and even though you might still be questioning certain elements at the end, you’ll be impressed by how she’s manage to connect all the dots. The Sea Of Tranquility is set across multiple timeframes, including the future. We have a young man that has come overseas from England to Vancouver Island in 1912 after being exiled from his family unit. Two centuries later, there is an author on a book tour on Earth (although she calls a second moon colony her home) then there is a detective who is investigating anomalies that have changed lives. More specifically, there is a young man who seizes the opportunity to change entire timelines at huge personal risk to himself and his family. I can’t really say anymore than that. It’s a story that’s so very intricate but worth every bit of effort that you put in, even if some of the parts had me wanting to metaphorically tear my hair out whilst other parts had me re-evaluating everything I had just read. In fact, this is one of those novels that would be absolutely perfect for a re-read. The author uses such complex ideas that all make sense at the end, however the journey to completion did blow my mind a little bit! It was the perfect book to buddy read along with a fantastic bunch of bookstagrammers including the lovely @edels_reads who organised it all. If you get a chance to buddy read it, I highly recommend it as there’s so much to discuss! Furiously rich in detail, inventive, powerful and unforgettable in everything this novel tries (and succeeds) to do, I’ll be automatically pre-ordering the next book by Mandel. ✨#bookbelles February Day 2: If you’re a bird, I’m a bird.-Soul Mates✨ . “𝙄’𝙙 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙚 𝙢𝙮 𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙄 𝙙𝙞𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙝𝙞𝙢 𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙢𝙚 𝙎𝙪𝙣𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙚.”✨ . Hello, lovelies! Today is such an unproductive day; I planned to at least take some bookish photos for the upcoming prompts and reorganize my bookshelves (books are literally overflowing 😂), but *shocking* I did none of that.😬 Instead, I caught up with some reviews I was supposed to write last year and well, now I was getting closer to wrap up my reading year of 2019!😂🤦🏻♀️ . Today’s topic is all about books with soul mates, and there’s no better story than Josh and Nastya’s in THE SEA OF TRANQUILITY by Katja Millay! This is by far the most underrated bestselling’s novel because I haven’t seen much of it in the book community. Seriously, this book is so, so, so friggin’ awesome that y’all need to give it a go!!🙌🏼🌟❤️ . What about you? Do you have a specific favorite OTP of all time? Do you believe in soul mates?🦋 . P.S. Since I was running out of pictures at the moment, this was taken in March, 2019 so please bear with me while I throw back to good ol’ days!🙃 . Happy Sunday! 🥂 . #bookbellesfebruary #valentinereads❤️ #theseaoftranquility #mustreads #bookrecs #winterreads #romancebooks #photochallenge #bookstagram #bookstagrammers #bookreview #bookreviewers #bookbloggers #soulmates #instabooks #readersofinstagram #booksleeves #booklove #bookish #booklovers https://www.instagram.com/p/B8ESuougS-9/?igshid=17zgwuep3sfe

Hey insta ! #loulizbookchallenge . 🇫🇷 Jour 14 : personnage préfèré. . . #bookstagram#bookstagrammer#bookaddict#books#lifestyle#bibliophile#livraddict#instabooks#livres#booklovers#bookblogger#bookphoto#bookphotography#booknerdigans#bookstagramfeature#booklover#reading#igbook#igread#bookworm#Insaisissable#booksandflowers#theseaoftranquility#flowers#katjamillay#josh#pages#paper#autumn

"When, on closing a door, a kimono sleeve is caught, and the seams of the sleeve and bodice will tear as one walks away... the sleeves of Rie's heart were torn to bits." Jealousy is a horrid dissonance. #yukiomishima #theseaoftranquility #thetempleofdawn #literature #jealousy #heartache #mishima
