Something I decided to try over the course of 2022 is reconnecting with #thewheeloftheyear one way I plan to do that is with this art project: filling the wheel with different constellations, flowers, and other sketches of things I see during that part of the year. I’ve started with some things I can recall immediately to mind: Orion hanging in the evening sky after Yule, daffodils around the spring equinox, my parents’ roses that bloom around Midsummer, the tiger lilies that come near my birthday. How are you coping with today’s energy shifts? This winter solstice has brought in some intense energy and I slept very poorly last night because of it. I don’t feel drained or tired, but my appetite has kicked up despite a bowl of porridge and some fruit. I’ve also downloading lots of information, especially the last 2 hours, and my clairaudience has gone into overdrive because of it. Coupled with this solstice is tomorrow’s full moon, and its influence is already being felt, too. The wheel of the year is drawing its final breath, and Mother Earth begins her renewal tomorrow. Today is the perfect opportunity to release what’s old and what no longer brings you happiness in preparation for the new. If you’ve noticed a shift within you, a sense of not feeling as centred as you should, make sure you take care of you throughout this day. Drink plenty of water, avoid caffeine and high in sugar foods, as this can cause your body to go into overdrive and become jittery on top of what your body is already perceiving. August in the northern hemisphere is when the heat is most intense. We look forward to the cooling days of fall when the apples are crisp and the last of the corn, chilies and tomatoes are harvested. In early religions the grain harvest represented the cycle of life and death. Stories were told of Persephone taken to the underworld and grief-stricken Demeter, her mother, grief-stricken, making the leaves fall (portraying winter). But before the autumn season, there was festivity, celebration, gathering fruits and grains and baking the first loaves of bread.
