I'm sorry I ever let you act as if you don't remember what you put me through. I was so naive then. I know so much more now, things I will probably never hear you admit to but that are so obvious. While I'm thankful for the lesson, you are something I will never look back on with a bright light. I don't regret the things I gave you, with the exception of more of my time than you deserved. If you ever feel inclined to write anything referencing me ever again, let it be a letter to your future child about love, forgiveness, and that feeling in your chest when you realize you've been found in a lie. Write them a guide to making excuses so they know how to recognize the patterns in someone else and save themselves. Tell them it's okay to not be in love with someone anymore, tell them how much easier it is to breathe when that door shuts behind them for the last time. Let them learn from your actions so they will love better. You treated me like a burned down candle. I've always been the motherfucking sun. I forgave you years ago, this is me trying to forgive myself.

You’re hurting, but man if I knew how bad it would hurt me too I swear I would have stopped it happening. You’re hurting and I just spoke about myself. I’m sorry. I’m so selfish. I’m not good at this see I’ve had no real experience. I’m older now though and I now understand the importance of having certain people in your life. You mean more to me than you realise. I understand I’m just a comfortable fortress of familiarity but I only want the best for you. Believe me please when I say I’m not doing this for my own gain. I guess if self love were seasons you’d be in winter, let me be the spring sun. I’ve made so many mistakes, stupid mistakes but you, having you in my life was never one but letting you leave; my worst by far.
