love how tyson basically just went “we gotta call mama”
i don’t know if it was because i read the books in sixth grade, but poseidon’s “your mother is a queen among women” & offer to build sally a palace at the bottom of the sea never moved me. personally, the grandness of it all felt a bit superficial.
his “you say it, and i will listen” & “love, another” lines in the show, though? very effective—i actually believe percy was conceived by love, precisely because everything’s so subtle. so sincere.
the show made me ship sally and poseidon—not in an exes-to-lovers “i still love you” kind of way, but in a lovers-to-exes “i love you, that’s why i’m letting you go” kind of way. don’t get it twisted.
i’ve been screaming that the show needs to showcase percy’s water powers since season 1, but i’m starting to get why the writers are introducing it slowly: they’re using it as a tool for percy’s character development.
as of right now, he’s definitely way more sally’s son than poseidon’s—hence the limited water power usage. he hasn’t quite embraced being poseidon’s son yet.
i’m assuming he’d use more of it as the seasons progress, probably starting when he fights with thalia in season 3, likely when he decides to make the great prophecy about him. by then, he’ll be older, more experienced, and more comfortable with being poseidon’s son. (definitely still sally’s son, of course, just also balanced as poseidon’s son.)
i felt thalia’s “i don’t want to be your daughter” in my bones
i was not prepared for the flashbacks with thalia, luke, and their baby annabeth
me, after watching cabnw: i hope we get at least a namedrop in thunderbolts* too

me: NOT LIKE THAT
my top-tier favorite shot from superman (2025) has got to be clark/superman drinking cocoa in the safety of his apartment while the justice gang fights for their lives outside his window
