♔ —• This was of great concern. Morgan’s eye caught glance at something that shined in the corner of his vision and that was a girl. A girl that, while seemingly normal in a few places, he could see bits of shining metal strewn about and a strange apparatus around her eye. The piece reminded him a bit too much of Quickthinx, which was never a good sign and.. just the way she stood about with little interest or concern made him a tad bit paranoid. There was definitely a dangerous aura around her that made him slightly uncomfortable.. but it wasn’t until it seemed she turned to see him staring right at her that he cleared his throat and coughed into his hand. 

“ Erm, my bad there. I thought there was something in the distance that shined and.. got into my eye. Have to be careful and take care of it, you know. Only.. only one left and all that. “ There was little tension but he knew that could rise from 0-100 real fast.

Makoto hasn’t seen snow in what feels like years. All the hierarchical cities had ars installed to ensure their weather stayed comfortable all year around, and she didn’t often travel to the one that had its systems destroyed. What was the name again, it was on the tip of her tongue...

Whatever, not important. What is important is that she gets to that Build-A-Bread workshop thing they have going in on Fibonacci before the lines get too long. It sounds like a fun idea to grab a bunch for her friends and then eat them in some bizarre pseudo-cannibalistic ritual. Wholesome winter activities.

“Around... here, I think?” she murmurs to herself. She doesn’t come to this ward very often, aside from work, so the layout is still a bit of a mystery to her. So distracted is she that as she turns a corner, she’s only a few inches away from bumping into someone along the way.

“Oops, my bad!” she says, hopping away. Thank goodness for beastkin reflexes. “Guess I should pay more attention! You’re not h... hurt... Oh my god, you’re Nu.”

Eyes wide, Makoto raises her hands just a little bit. Enough to defend herself if something happens, but not enough to be taken as a threat. There’s a lot of thoughts running through her head right now, but the first thing to do is make sure no one’s about to throw down. If even Hazama can restrain himself in this city, then who knows what’ll happen next?

“H... hi?” she manages. “You’re looking... well?”

Having taken a public transport as far southeast of the city as he could and making the rest of the trip on-foot, Rock now stood as a high precipice, overlooking his destination: the sprawling remains of a decrepit, abandoned metropolis, stretching as far as the horizon.

So... This is is, then. He silently mused internally. These are the ruins that the rumors are calling “Yesteryear”... 

Peering his eyes, Rock looked off into the fog-clouded distance as far as he could. Faintly, there were a few rare, humanoid shapes in the horizon... 

People? --No, their gait was too rigid. ...Could they be something like Sharukurusu?  Ohh, that could go baaad.

...If they turn out hostile, Rock thought, glancing down towards his Buster arm, I could probably disable by targeting joints, even with these BBs. But in a serious fight, I could get overwhelmed fast; I’ve got no way of knowing their numbers...

A small sigh.

“To begin with, I’m not even sure it’s safe to go further into this...weird, harsh atmosphere.” Rock shakes his head, despondent. “Times like these, I really miss Roll...”

However, even if Rock was stripped of nigh-on his entire arsenal, he still had some things: like his proximity-triggered Alarm Lamp. Which, out of nowhere, had just gone from green to red.

“--Ah--?!” His left hand drifting to his cannon, Rock pivoted on his heel, cautiously scanning the thicket he’d emerged from to get here. “Who’s there?”

Discovered in a long-abandoned Astral facility, it seems this girl was modified with the intent of exploring the realm beneath the sky: the Crimson Horizon. Despite her young appearance, she speaks in a monotone and only occasionally displays flashes of a former personality. Although she obeys orders, she displays a sick glee during battle, relishing combat as proof of her existence. 

She displays an obsession with a certain man. Although she refuses to share this information, it’s difficult to tell if it’s for a good reason or not. Despite the age of the facility she was found in, it appears as if she was recently modified. Who could have done such a thing?

She struggles to find her place in a world she cannot recognize. Perhaps she is content being a weapon and nothing more.

♕ - ; The state the city was in was a curious one. While outwardly there was nothing Percival could see that was an issue, there was some force at work that could strike at him from the literal air around him that he was unaware of. It always seemed different at times, too. Whether or not they would be blunt strikes, to sword slashes.. at times he even felt immense heat or cold from the air around him as well. If they were simply invisible enemies that he couldn’t see to deal with it was one matter.. but the way other civilians acted was out of question as well. Some scaling seemingly nothing, others running along invisible or broken paths perfectly.. perhaps his own vision was distorted in some way? 

“ How infuriating. An enemy that I can’t even see to burn back. “ With his sword held up at all times, all he could do was move back and get lucky that he would block on instinct. At times it worked, other times he’d feel a blow or strike that sent him back a bit as he kept up with his movements. Moving past a few civilians though, the sight of what looked to be.. a pristine, metallic girl came into view. From looks alone he was already on defense. 

“ You there. You wouldn’t happen to know of these invisible enemies, would you? “

     Trying to understand the rules of this world has left Ragna with a massive headache. The last few encounters he’s had kept raising too many questions, with the only answers given being vague guesses. Nothing he’s seen matches what others are apparently seeing, and even the creatures of static have no consistency... Was everyone simply going mad? What was real, what was a lie? Was the Seithr all around him even real? No one else seemed affected by it... even his Azure Grimoire wasn’t reacting properly to anything around him, unable to determine the truth of it all.

     As the Reaper remain perched on some rubble, he was far too spaced out to take notice of the incoming... help? Ragna’s deep train of thought was abruptly cut off by the sudden collision of a young girl against his side. She had flown right for him the moment she was aware of him, and now they were both tumbling right off the pile of debris. The yelp he let out was certainly... not what one would expect from the Grim Reaper, but thankfully it was super brief! Once the pair finally land on the ground, Ragna can take the chance to figure out what the hell just happened.

          “The hell--?! Where did ya--” He cut himself off once he realized the “assailant” was none other than Nu-13... He didn’t even know she was back on the island, but... better late than never?
