This is Gallifrey // Doctor Who - Series 3 (2007)

Once again, the music in that epsiode killed me. I picked up on This is Gallifrey right in the moment, since it's one of my favourite tracks.

I also recognised the piece in the TARDIS at the end of the episode, but I didn't realise until later it was "Every Christmas is Last Christmas"! Which makes a lot of sense, given it played when Donna asked the Doctor about what she'd missed (and I was kinda waiting for a Twelve era and/or 4.5 billion year mention through the whole thing).

Someone even said there's motifs from Flux during that scene, which is really cool if true, given that it originated from Akinola's era, unlike the others which are all Gold? Not confirmed that yet myself though.

I really love “This is Gallifrey” and I wish Murray Gold would find the time to finish Doctor Who Series 10 OST, because I love the Lie of the Land version of this track.

(I know I'm still a Whooligan because I'm reading this book I just got called A Brief History of Time Lords and I'm reading a description of Gallifrey and how pretty it is and instantly without prompt This is Gallifrey plays in my head while reading XD)

Today’s music recommendation is This is Gallifrey from Doctor Who!

This is the song that made me fall in love with the show.  It is beautifully atmospheric; just listening to it can make me almost see Gallifrey in its astonishing beauty.

Also I just love how this piece is arranged.  I love how the strings are used, especially.  It’s beautifully done.  Murray Gold is a genius, and it clearly shows from Doctor Who’s soundtracks over the years.
