Can’t overstate how much i appreciate writers who post “controversial" fics in fandoms made up predominantly by people who hate acknowledging taboo subjects. avg of 30 people will want to read your fic, even fewer leave kudos/comments, and theres a high likelihood tht someone will make an adverse comment about how theyre “disgusted” they were “forced” to see the pairing/tags while they were scrolling, but th fics still prevail. thank you

You can choose one of the three or feel free to mash it just like Gail the Snail and get real weird with it. There's plenty of prompts relating to in-universe actual plot devices that the show has used, and some that aren't because there's just too many to use. And we all know too much of good thing will have you monologuing like Dennis in Prime Time. Face tape and all.

Something something Dee trying to kiss Mac under the mistletoe and Mac hooking up with her because he thinks it’s the closest he’ll ever get to having Dennis and Dee tells Den about it in excruciating detail, smug bc she knows exactly what she’s doing. And he gets off thinking about Mac fucking his sister
YES. The lack of meta and analysis about Dee’s relationship and her feelings on Dennis drive me crazy. It’s easy to talk Dennis because his codependency, narcissism, and need for power is so much LOUDER than hers it’s easy to just go “lol she hates him” when it’s so much deeper than that. Dee wants Dennis just as dependent on her as she is to him. Yes, she wants his validation and acknowledgment as well, but the second she gets it Dee flips the script and denies Dennis her love because it’s one of the few things she has power over him. Dee knows Dennis and his insecurities so well she can make a comment about his face being fat and send him into an ED spiral. She’s also the hardier of the two, so it puts her in the natural protective/caretaker role of Dennis. She makes a show of hating it, but when Dennis is sick, she’s the first to tell him to go get checked out, he passes out and she feeds him nuts, the escape room calling him a psycho and she jumped to defend him, when she finds out about him being raped by the librarian she tried to make him realize what happened - in her own fucked up way, she sides with him on the cereal defense and reigns him in when he’s getting hot. She wants to control him and coddle him but her methods are less obvious and usually occur after she cuts him down. Hell, she knows Dennis better than he knows himself which is how she gets him to cling to her so much.
Hsbhxua it’s so frustrating that Dennis gets all the interesting meta and psychological breakdowns when part of the appeal is that they are BOTH codependent and love each other and both fucked up and Dee utilizes control as well, but in subtler ways. To see it as “lol she hates him” is missing a huge chunk of their relationship dynamic.
Kissing you platonically on the mouth! I was just thinking about how Dee tends to get the long game reveals that make so much sense if you pay attention to her:
That she’s had her own implication all along, that she forced Charlie after the very telling line of hurting people before they can hurt her in that missing the boat episode, that she knows how to manipulate Dennis and she is a big proponent of his SINNED system.
Dee’s clever! She’s desperate for approval! She sad and drowning and like the rest of the gang, gets so much worse because she’s miserable and feels like she’s owed better. Just in her case, it also involves being Barbara Reynolds to her groomed as well mommy kink brother.
The only man who has ever wanted Dee (besides Cricket) is Dennis. And he wants her like she's a creature in his mad science experiments. He wants her so he can stick her full of pins and see how she screams. He wants her the same way he wants her love - an extension in his eyes of their Mother.
And Dee wants any other man than Dennis because to be loveable to anyone other than a monster means she must have value. Right? Right? And she's seen him all through the years, knows him better than anyone else and yet she still doesn't want it except when she does.
(I hc Dee as being the Most Free and Normal she ever was in university. When she wasn't around her brother who would drag her down to his level until she adjusted to that oceanic dark pressure and it became comfortable where she stagnated and will do so until she dies)
