Throw back Thursday flashback to the time I went to a larp and was informed that I was "incorrectly" and "unsafely" using my (25#) bow because I was drawing with my thumb at safety check, meanwhile there was another well-established player nicknamed "Captain Crotch-shot" because her shots tended to arc low and hit people in the groin.

Lucky was such a sweetheart today after a bit of a rocky start for us both (shout-out to not have my anxiety meds this morning and having to ride a new horse 😌). He leveled out for us both though and ran true, so much so that we upped the ante to bridleless for the last few runs — and he rocked it! Looking forward to possibly riding this kid for the STAR competition in March!

Let’s face it I’m not exactly Howard Hill. I was trying to hit the bottle but instead I hit the first arrow’s shaft directly and split it like a twig—just a sliver of that outer layer holding the two pieces together. Those were my last two of the repaired/replacement arrows still intact so I better start using the yellow ones that I haven’t tried out yet.

Those yellow-fletched ones make me think Green Arrow and the Canaries, like he goes armed with “canary arrows” in his quiver or something.
