For one of my AUs, I've been trying to come up with ideas for how Mario and Luigi's hand powers might interact with power-ups. I'd appreciate some feedback:

Firebrand

Super Bell: Paws catch on fire when dashing

Giga Bell: Entire body is aflame (blue flames?)

Boomerang Flower: Boomerangs are on fire

Bubble Flower: Floating balls of fire?

Drill Mushroom: Drill catches on fire when spinning

Elephant Fruit: Can shoot fire out of trunk

Fire Flower: Entire body is aflame

Frog Suit: ???

Ice Flower: Shoots water instead

Penguin Suit: Same as Ice Flower

Super Leaf: Tail burns enemies when using tail whip

Thunderhand

Super Bell: Generates electricity when dashing

Giga Bell: Entire body is a shocking hazard

Boomerang Flower: Boomerangs that shock enemies

Bubble Flower: Balls of electricity?

Drill Mushroom: Drill generates electricity when spinning

Elephant Fruit: Trunk shocks enemies upon contact

Fire Flower: ???

Frog Suit: High jumps create a blast of electricity?

Ice Flower: ???

Penguin Suit: ???

Super Leaf: Tail shocks enemies when using tail whip

@silly-inky I was thinking about Isa's odd resistance to magic again. Specifically about how unintentional splash damage from thunderhand and firebrand would affect her. For thunderhand it's be more like getting zapped by an electrical socket than getting hit by lightning and for firebrand it's be mild burns, like the ones you get from briefly touching a hot pan or something.

This isn’t about the body swap. I was just curious, in your AU does your Mario and Luigi already have their powers while living in Brooklyn and just didn’t realize it or did they gain it after entering the Mushroom Kingdom? Will we eventually see Luigi’s electric abilities in your AU? I just wonder how they came about with these powers in your au.

I like to think that while Mario and Luigi are normal guys that only obtained these powers in the magical realm, they also had a predisposition for those. The same way Mario is unnaturally strong, or Luigi can jump unnaturally high in my version. They're regular human beings, but there was always a little something special about them too. 🎇

You guys saw Mario's Firebrand in my collab with Drones, but that's obviously not all. ;3 I don't know if I'll delve further in the context of these specific powers per say, but something I'll soon share and which I had never shown before is... kinda similar to that. 👀
