Tianliu is a brilliant pairing because both Tianlang Jun and Liu Qingge are men out of sync with the world. Neither of them were supposed to exist in the plot of PIDW, and at times it almost seems like both of them somehow can sense they aren’t supposed to be alive. Their very existence is proof that Shen Yuan’s kindness has radically altered the narrative, yet at the same time they both end the story conspicuously lonely, almost as if the world is self-correcting to quarantine their impact. How can I not be compelled by a war god and a warlord finding each other, seeing themselves reflected across time and space, and trying to build a stubborn happiness that is selfishly their own. What better way to spit in the face of destiny than to fight for love with another unmoored traveler

The other reason it’s brilliant is because it’s really funny to imagine Liu Qingge getting plowed into the ground by his love rival’s dad

I'm back with the tianliu because I think all scenarious would be hilarious with these two.

Like, a modern university au where all the peak lords teach different subjects, sy and sj being different people. lqg would be all sports and an absoloutley SHIT teacher, so shit that someones parent would come in to talk to him about it.

That parent being tlj. But as soon as tlj sees lqg he decides that this man is the man he will marry(sxy died in childbirth) and lqg has no idea why this man filed a complaint about his teaching and then requested to see him on behalf of his son, but he hasn't done anything but compliment him and his looks for the past 20min and he has more classes to teach soon.

tlj will keep coming to pick up lbh from his afterschool practice more and more often and offer to go out for supper with lqg and so on and so on, even going as far as to ask lbh to date liu mingyan again so that he can spend more time with lqg(He doesn't know that lbh is obsessed with his english lit teacher).

and this will keep going on and on until lqg finally accepts a dinner invite. And they have nothing in common to talk about. All of their past conversations have been about how beautiful lqg is or tlj asking lqg out for dinner over and over.

So lqg(ever dense towards socail etiquette) talks about fighting and his dojo that he runs on the side for an hour. And tlj listens and basically memorises everything lqg says because he is so in love and captivated with lqg, and the best part is, lqg doesn't even know gay people exist.

Lqg will be thinking about how he really likes to talk with(at) tlj and loves going out to meals with him but doesn't realises that wanting your students dad to fuck you into a pillow until you scream out is gay, that's just what bros feel about eachother afterall, right??

once lbh graduates 3 years later and confesses to his ex-teacher sy, lqg realises two people of the same gender can date and asks tlj out on a date, tlj gets really confused and thought they had been dating ever since they first had supper together.

All I can think about is Tianliu rn for some reason.

Liu Qingge went to confess to Shen Yuan only to find out that Binghe beat him to it, he can't deal with this at all so he goes to the bar and starts drinking alcohol for the first time ever (something like vodka lemonade which is 90% lemonade) and gets drunk after like 4 drinks, so drunk that he collapses at the bar. The bar was a chain and the owner of the chain(Tianlang-Jun) happened to be there to see this beauty collapse onto the floor, so he takes him home just because he can.

The next morning, lqg wakes up in this penthouse apartment with a hot old man in bed next to him and thinks that he's been kidnapped (he's not wrong) and throws a punch and tlj as soon as he opens his eyes. tlj says that last night, lqg promised to date him and that they are going to get married (he decided as soon as lqg almost broke his nose). lqg decides that he has to take responsibility for this and says that they can start living together but no sex till marriage.

Shen Yuan is frantically texting lqg because he hasn't texted in 5 days and thinks he's died and goes to his apartment only to find out that he's moved out and hadn't told him. lbh tells sy that he's getting a stepmother and that they're going round to his dads house to meet them in a week.

sy, still frantically searching for lqg who still hasn't seen in ages goes to this dinner only to see lqg with tlj, living in his house and cooking a(failed) supper with him and is confused beyond belief.

Okay let me preface this by saying I'm high as hell but hear me out.

Modern TianLiu where Liu Qingge is at a party. He sees bingqiu enter then says to the closest guy nearby, in his inarticulate way, "talk to me so my ex-but-not-really won't come over"

The guy manages to squeeze info out of Qingge, taking delight in his story about third wheeling Shen Yuan and cang Qiong’s least favourite ex-student. Until Binghe shows up, glares at this guy and asks what his father is doing talking to Liu Qingge
