despite how eh this one is i kinda like it? i feel like the anatomy of the face is good.

i dont have anything to add about this dragon, i just wanna apologise for my absense—finding out my limit when it comes to these, some issues in my wrists and hands making drawing uncomfortable at times and just like. Life. getting in the way has led to this REALLY bleeding over. im frustrated and annoyed, especially since i started so well, but we all need to begin somewhere right?

i will be keeping on this throughout september and i will jsut be labelling it "late smaugust". in future these things will be every other day or every three days, that seems to work best. love everyone who has supported me thus far ♡

(I think it would’ve been nice if the show introduced dragons from the games into the show. While the games ‘School of Dragons’ or ‘Rise of Berk’ aren’t necessarily canon, the dragons would have been familiar to OG fans while still technically being NEW as they weren’t seen in the movies or tv shows.)

Dragon Striker x HTTYD part 3

Now it's getting harder. It was easy to assign dragons to characters with elemental powers, and with characters that have enough screen time and personality that I can find them a dragon based on other things, like personality and plot points. I'm going out of vibes and the smallest of reasons. Also, I don't want too many repeats, so don't be surprised if you see some dragons you've never heard of before.

Let's start with something easy, Griffin. There are surprisingly multiple dragons that can turn invisible. The Light Fury and Night Fury are too powerful for our little gremlin. The Changewing would be perfect, but to me it's too ''plant'' like. When not invisible, the design of this dragon would fit more on a team like the Roses. The Hobblegrunts change their color based on their mood, but don't turn invisible. Let's give him a Changewing when he's not invisible, it's purple.

Let's go with Freki next. Surprisingly, there is a dragon based on a werewolf. Kind of. According to the dragon eye, the victims of the Lycanwing's bite turn into a Lycanwing. However, it was later discovered that this was made up by dragon hunters to scare people away from the dragon eye lenses hidden on Lycanwing Island. There's Screaming Death, it's white and has sharp teeth. There's also Boneknapper. You know? Werewolves like to eat bones.

Kamo gets a shark dragon, Seashocker. Other water dragons are better suited to other characters. Besides, she and Kai are supposedly related; they may have shared a dragon before Kai got her own.

Kai gets a Tide Glider. This dragon can also spit water instead of fire. It's to differentiate her from Odina. Odina and her dragon are physically stronger, but Kai and her dragon are faster and more agile. (That's the vibe I'm getting. I hope those card stats aren't going to throw a wrench in my reasoning.)

Pregrina was tricky, but then I decided to cheat. Her little ghosts are Terrible Terrors, and the big ghosts are Deathgrippers. Those dragons are perfect for evil lackeys.

Would you believe me if I told you there was a dragon who could predict the future, just like Conan? The Prophecy Dragon is a Nanodragon that first appears in Doom of the Darkwing. Prophecy Dragons, as their name suggests, are able to look into the future and predict things before they happen. Prophecy Dragons are very small, about the size of a human finger. They have a frog-like head and two thin tongues that can move independently from one another. They have three fingers on each limb, and a tail that is split in two at the very end. But he needs a dragon to fly on, so let's give him a Hobblegrunt.

Cleo was the hardest to find a dragon for so far, but I think I got it figured out. She has long hair and can tie things with it, so let's give her a snake-like dragon. She's based on a mummy, so let's look for an Egyptian dragon too. Slitherwing fits the bill, make it purple, and it will fit right in.

Sanga has a whole flock of Night Terrors. Night Terrors form tightly-packed, well-organised swarms, reminiscent of fish schools. Unlike schooling fish, however, these formations can assume the shape of other, larger dragons as a defence tactic against would-be predators.

Picard- Rumblehorn. They're an intelligent, determined, and protective species, who can fit both his stoic captain image and that he was a rebel who got into his share of brawls during his academy days

Riker- Skrill. With him being skilled and disciplined but a charmer, I feel like he'd be one of the best possible riders to make it feel impressive but not unnecessarily threatening to show up with such a powerful dragon. Plus, it looks about the perfect height for Riker-maneuvering onto

Geordi- Snow Wraith. A species with poor vision in the traditional sense but making up for it with infrared, which is not too unlike how his visor works, I think they'd be able to understand each other well

Data- Sword Stealer. I could also see a Razorwhip as a metallic-looking dragon that would suit an android, but I feel like the Sword Stealer needing to make it's own armor while being vulnerable underneath fits better with his longing to be human and striving to learn more and figure out who he is

Worf- Thunderpede. A species with plenty of brute strength and skill in combat, but also known to keep rock gardens in their dens, similar to the Klingons being proud warriors with a fondness for poetry

Yar- Triple Stryke. Becoming a security chief after she grew up fighting for survival on a failed colony, she could easily find understanding with a formidable dragon popularly forced into dragon fighting

Troi- Hobblegrunt. A dragon that can sense the emotional states of nearby humans and dragons and help to calm them down seems like a perfect fit for the ship's empath counselor

Dr. Crusher- Tide Glider. The ship's doctor who also has a background in music and dance, and still quite competent when called into combat situations, she'd fit well with a dragon said to dance above the waves, which can fire both a healing spray and acid

Wesley- I'd probably picture him being constantly told he's too young for dragon riding, but maybe being given a Terrible Terror so he can start practicing forming a bond with a dragon

Scoop enjoys swimming, but prefers warmer seas, ice cream the twins named, and got her name by 'scooping' folks up to show off her strength. She will headbutt if teased for her height, but it's soft as the sands.
