MY ATTMEPT FOR THE BLUE ONE
Tide stone adopt attempt – 1.5k – umi inu Inokabe – Broken Coral AU
Raphie stiared up at the stars, water lapping at the dinghy he lay in. He could hear Opals scales rub agist the old wood every now and again, see the gling of firy orange and pale yellow out of the corner of her eye.
The moons where all aglow, even if none where full. Stars took over most of the sky, the island they had taken cover in not far, and the cove the ship was in just a short row away.
It was nice. He could see the stars Don and Lea loved so very much.
Raphie sighed, streching as his lil dinghy rocked, Opal hulling himself up onto the old wood boat.
“Hey Opal.” Raph sighed, reahing the arm that didn’t hold his head ont to storke Opals nose.
Only for scales to meet scales, and for none of Opals horns in easy reach. Weird. If he pushed his finger up just slightly he was met with an eye-
Raph scrambled up, pushing herself up onto the bow, not reaching for any weapon /yet/.
The bow dipped slightly as Opal, deffintly Opal this time, pulled himself onto the bow with Raphie, half in the watter and dripping as he growled. Orange turned to yellow in the moonlight, a dark mussle in Raphies vision.
It was hard to see in the dark, but something similer to Fire Opal sat in the sturn on his dinghy, though smoth fur was replaces with scales, the thick main of fur replaces with fins. Distinctly more fish tehn shark too.
Raphie couldent quiet see the colour of the beast, but there where pale spots that glowed almost white and three eyes that glittred at her. Deffintly three, not markings that could be mistaken for eyes like Fire Opal.
The beast watched them, and they watched it.
Gills flared on its nexk, and Raphie suddenly relised that it ddint look like it /came/ from the sea.
Sure it had gills, but only a few for the size of it, even with most of its tail still in the water. It had no fins like Opal did on its legs, just ones on its chest, spine and tail. Big floppy ears that would make drag, paws with no webbing.
Raphie put a hand out, pushing Opal back slightly.
“Well they are deffintly not one of yours Opal.” Raphie mussed alowed, watching all three of those eyes watch him.
The stair off contuined for a few moments, before the beast slipped into the water smooth as could be.
“Welp.” Raphie broke the silence, the only one who could out of the two on the boat. “I think that wraps up tonights adventure.”
Raphie threw the stick as far as she could, Fire tarring off after it. Tangerine took off too, and Raphie could hear Mikey yelling at the man-bug.
Raphie rolled her eyes. Mikey needed to train his pets. More so with how big the newest two where.
Raphie watched the sun glint off blue scales, a beastie asleep in a tide pool not far from the gathering of crew and animals.
Raphie wandered just a little closer, just enough to see what kind of animal took a nap in the middle of a beach on a sunny and hot day.
A three eyed face with big floppy ears was in her view for only a moment before being covered by a paw.
Might be a similer beast to the one from two nights ago.
Raphie hummed, stepping away to give the beast a little rrom, and to pick up the stick dropped at his feet.
Raphie louged on the volcanic rock, fish roasting over a fire. Fire Opal and Polaris where curled up together, the bright purple of the sappling standing out against the reds and yellows of Fires fur.
Raphie turned back to the fire, watching embers move and dance in the dark of the night sky.
Don was clsoe by, his skorvid nestled on their neck, one head tucked neatly into its wing.
A dark shape moved just past them, and Raphie turned his attnetion to it, though he turned his head to the ship nestled in the cove just past them.
A dark body came into fire light, the glowing patches turning from white to teal as it got closer to the fire light. Three dark eyes watched him tend the fire, moving with his every move.
Raphie worked slwoly, taking one of the partly cooked fish and breaking off its head, then tossing it a few feet to the left of the sea-beast.
It titled its head at him, bent down to give the fish a sniff, then lapped it up.
Raphie fed it the rest of the fish.
The boat rocked as waves hit it, heavy ones that came from being at sea when the wind picked up.
Raphie tightned his hold on the ladder, spear gun in hand, and legs hooked around the metal rungs he clung too.
Red fur glinted amungs the pink, Opal trying to reach the ship without getting stung. If he wasnt in the literal middle of the fray, Raphie would have called for him to give room, and have his spear already in one of the pink bastards.
The skorrvids where no help, divebombing and pecking away at frills and stingers and gernerly making lots of noise.
Raphie hissed as Opal got closer to the ship, a head poking out of the water for just a moment before diving again.
Raphie shot his separ into the water, more hoping to startle then kill.
Fire Opal came up at his side, and Raph waisted no time in hulling them out of the water and dragging the spear back to his side.
He grabbed at the harpoon, spear strapped to his shell. It cut through air and water alike, a pink mosnter going down with a sckree.
Raphie pulled the harpoon back, yanking the Kraang off nad tossing it into the dinghy just above him.
The ahrpoon hit the water again right as blue frills cut the water, a pink mass behind it.
Raphie wasted no time, the second Kraang in the boat and the closest pink monster to the blue sea-dog shot though the head with her harpoon.
Raph scuffed the blue sea-dog, pulling it onto the platform he and Opal stood on. It was a tight fit with the two four-legged beasts, but Raphie could manage. He had the third Kraang off the harpoon and was already gearing up for another shot.
He grunted as a particularly big wave hit them, sending spray up the side of the ship and hitting his legs harshly. Both of the beasts next to him yelped, but both managed to stay a bord.
One of the birds, Raphie couldent twll witch, dove a little too close to the flight path of her weapon.
“SPACE!” Raphie roared over the waves.
Most of the flock flew up, and Raphie was about ready to strangle Mikey for his un-trained bird.
Raphie held an arm out to grab the blie dog before it could dive back into the Kraang infested waters. “Oh no you don’t.”
The dog nipped at her. Raphie didn’t let go.
Raphie managed to gt one of the pink monstters as she staired down the dog.
It relented as his siblings dropped down from above, tucking next to one leg as Opal took to the other.
Raphie nodded and took back to the hunt as his siblings got their own weapons ready and shot into the water.
-- im running out of time they left bay and are now on open waters --
Raphie pulled the roap in, the stray dinghy rocking oh so gently in the waves. Said waves would be as tall as the ship soon if the clouds on the horizen where anything to go by, so it was best to get the little boat in //now before that happened.
He was just getting the thing tied up to be lifted when something blue cought his eye.
“Mikey if you let your stinking bid nest in here again-” Raohie grumbled, moving to reach for the blue object.
A scaled, and three eyed head rose from the bench, the eyes green in the filtred sunlight.
Raphie blinked. The beasty tilted its head.
“We’re a long way from your home.”
The beast just jumped out of the dinghy, stretchered on the platform next to Raphie, and blinked the unfairly massive eyes at him.
Raphie rubbed his face with both hands. Well Captain was gonna be pissed.
-- they are docked again --
“Sooo,” Mikey swopped in, an animal to each shoulder and a massive bug following him.
Raphie ignored his brother.
“The beasty got a name yet?”
Raph threw the stick that was dropped at his feet, both of his not-dogs running after it.
